There was nothing I dreaded more when DJing than somebody calling. I'm afraid of telephones. One time someone called and said, "My girlfriend is from Japan and she's really loving all this music that you're playing." That was barely manageable.

I'm with you on how the lack of sleep hits suddenly & you realize you let something slip? Like 40 yrs. ago as a hemodialysis tech on the early shift after I was up late at a chess match, I thought, hey, this is easier than I thought. But then I took a patient off the machine w/o giving most of his blood back. I had to reconnect the lines as instructed, managing to get most of it back into the patient before it clotted.

Ken observed the extreme example of the effects w Glen Jones's record-setting staying-awake DJing. At the end it was said to be really weird when they took him to a bed & he wouldn't lie down & sleep.

Treat occasional sunburn as you would other burns topically: a -caine (benzocaine, lidocaine) for the pain, a corticosteroid (hydrocortisone is OTC) for the inflammation. Plus anti-inflammatory pills like aspirin could help. Aloe vera topically's good too.

Faye,"NaPCA with aloe vera". NaPCA is a moisturizer your body produces,but could use much more of when you're burnt. it literally stops the burn from continuing,which it does even after you're away from the sun- but it needs to be as soon as possible.
about 5 bucks.

@Faye: What I do for sunburns is eat like a lot of meat for meals the next few days. Burgers, tacos, chicken… All that. Helps the body heal. Unless you’re a vegan and then… Well, I can’t help you. Also, sleep. You see! The circle of life!
