What a coincidence, I've just spent 9 hours eating without working. I'd rather do what you did.

It's going to get a lot tougher if I go insane from being so terrible at job interviews. Maybe I'll send my cat to interview in my place for the next one. She'll make a better impression.

Daniel Blumin:

Greetings to all freeformists! Ike, don't forget to tamp down the pink tie and mousse combo. It's killed many an applicant.
Avatar 9:40pm
Mayuko:

oh no steve! I think my day was much easier than yours, just without eating!
Avatar 9:42pm
steve:

Ike - weird advice but I find its great to exercise or do something fun right before a job interview or stressful meeting
Avatar 9:50pm
steve:

s'ok Mayuko! my daily life working on the same project all day 7 days a week for 2 months has become so surreal and manic its kind of exciting.

Thanks, Steve! Maybe before the next one I'll do Gertrude's Nose. Wait, get your mind out of the gutter, all of youse.

FWIW, I used to do the long megawalks like crazy even when I worked like 9-6… It helps with stress, but it’s not a sustainable stress solution. Eating better and resting works better in the long run.
Avatar 10:11pm
steve:

thanks for the concern Mayuko... it all ends Monday!

I heard that "This Kind Of Punishment" track and thought, "Wow! This reminds of me that Peter Jefferies album I bought in the 80's." And yeah well.....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21pm
Daniel Blumin:

I can see them - all 123,456 of them! There's even one in the Vatican, bob! (But perhaps I'm imagining things?) And I can't believe I left Foreigner's "Records" out when compiling my tape from Columbia House list! With Heartbeat City that makes 8 fer a penny. Sounds about right!
Avatar 10:22pm
bobdoesthings:

@db - sounds specific enough, must be correct.

I hear WFMU that magic mirror like the one the lady used on “Romper Room.”

i see you're able to avoid that late '60s stuff from earlier so far

let's keep it like that : )
Avatar 11:14pm
Mayuko:

Because Eating Better was recommended on this board, I have been eating celeries one after another. This set has been going quite well with concentrating on this minimal repetitive activity.
Avatar 11:15pm
bobdoesthings:

eating better is always recommended
Avatar 🌫 Swag For Life Member 11:19pm
Ike:

There are comets in the studio again? Pfft. Y'all need to get some cosmic exterminators in there to deal with that.
  11:19pm
JakeGould:

@Mayuko: Congrats on eating better! It helps! My new “snack” is cooking rice and mixing in good quality vegetables. Might sound hippish, but sometimes that is the best thing. Also long naps help as well. I work in front of a screen most of the time and it’s really tiring. So long naps and then walks and even going to galleries or museums to “refocus” my eyes works.
  11:20pm
Karina:

Hello Daniel! Nice sets today!
Avatar 11:26pm
Ryab:

This reminds me of Aphex Twin's recent release.
Avatar 11:28pm
Mayuko:

Yah, bobdoesthings, Jake, seriously! I have been feeling so tired recently I figured I really need to eat better. Getting less rice (which is often hard for Japanese people!) & more veggies and fruits energize you much quicker than I thought.
Avatar 11:28pm
bobdoesthings:

::crosses fingers:: please turn into one of those doggie remixes
  11:29pm
P-90:

@steve: Good Luck with finally rolling out the mysterious new product on Monday. Big Question: are you going to tell us what it's all about after its official debut? also: Do Demon Kitties have special dietary requirements?
  11:31pm
JakeGould:

FWIW, I really felt the urge for a steak today but couldn’t get organic. I was just lazy. So I bought some cheap non-organic meat from a local place. And this is what was weird: Non-organic meat has so much hormones in it if you eat it like out of the blue, you suddenly feel a rush in a few minutes like Popeye eating spinach… Not a good thing, but affirms what I know about non-organic beef.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31pm
Tome:

great show Daniel ,, had to come inside ,, too nice out ,!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36pm
Daniel Blumin:

Thank you, Tome + Karina!!! bob, the remixes must wait!
  11:37pm
JakeGould:

@Mayuko: FWIW, I am now eating more rice instead of just plain white bread and all that. My Eastern European/American gut has different needs.

The 'Health Food Store Philosophy', if you will, is generally that the less Processed a food is, the better - as that is what we evolved eating & it therefore suits us as organisms: the closer it is to how it was in nature when we eat it, the better.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50pm
Daniel Blumin:

hiya, coela!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:53pm
coelacanth:

glad i missed this diet/health conversation!
  11:54pm
JakeGould:

@coelacanth: It wasn’t that deep unless you count me eating non-organic meat and feeling the hormones kick in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57pm

that's good. .. i just get too into it and i don't think it's a good idea but it's my main field of study.
