Hey Nick ! fleep!

Hey fleep! ,yes, apparently this was the blueprint for his repetition , a very early work by Reich

I have a feeling JakeGould will be along soon. Unless Dave the Spazz' chimps worked him over. Last we heard, Jake was trying to feed them something. You don't want to be around when chimps get violent.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13am
coelacanth:

if he's smart,he'll stick a sedative into that cake before they eat it.
  12:17am
JakeGould:

Whenever I think of Steve Reich, I think of him and Phillip Glass running their own moving company during their early years in NYC.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19am
Bronwyn Bishop:

I wonder if they moved the same boxes over and over and over.
  12:19am
JakeGould:

@KenFromHydePark: I believe the Ming vase is okay. The cake was fine as well. Chimps were accepting of the caviar, Table Talk pies and pretzel nuggets.
  12:19am
V Pricelessa:

Been ok, Fish, thanx - hope things are good with ya!

Everybody always warns us about staring into the abyss, but what if the abyss starts speaking to you? Nobody remembers to warn us not to respond. Anyway, great show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10am

yeah,i like that folky Steve Reich. but this is the side of Steve Reich that i really get into. i always tell people that, you can ask anyone.

The power of repetition.

Nick Name:

@kurt: ha ha, yeh as Jakegould mentioned earlier, when Philip/Steve & CO were in the removal business they knocked out disco compositions , they could do it with their eyes shut, that minimalism lark just wasn't cutting it back then
Avatar 1:14am
Bryce:

nah, his zydeco stuff was absolutely groundbreaking. once he got into tape stuff, he really lost me.
  1:15am
JakeGould:

One of my neighbor’s plays this Steve Reich bit every few days… Just random shouting and a dog barking… It’s really amazing. Occasionally they work a helicopter into the mix which is a delightful surprise.
  1:19am
rw:

Does it seem weird that I haven't received any mail for two days?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:21am
coelacanth:

i liked his duets album. especially that song he did with Christina Angelera.
  1:24am
JakeGould:

@coelacanth: The next “Now That’s What I Call Music” will be just Steve Reich jams.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am
coelacanth:

Jake, who's working a helicopter into the mix, the DEA- keeping track of your neighbor with an infrared camera?!
  1:27am
rw:

Oh, and speaking of mail, Nick your marathon premium arrived a few weeks ago. Really nice! That's what I call a marathon premium!

Wow. Jake, I was just typing the above when your comment appeared. Now that's what I call a confluence.

Ack! Got sidetracked there and forgot to ask, Nick is there a significance to 1979?
  1:31am
JakeGould:

@coelacanth: I live in a part of Brooklyn that is a few blocks away from a highway and near a major bridge. So if there is any morning traffic issues, all the news choppers are up getting exclusive pictures of cars not moving. Thrilling minimalism!

@rw: thx - have a good weekend too. btw- no significance to NTWICM 1979, aside from the fact that the official NTWICM series didn't start till 1983…so I'm imagining the series as it were with 82 / 79 etc...
