Sick of it!

  9:07am Jeff Conklin:

Morning, Bob. This may be my favorite Dylan cover.
Avatar 9:18am Bob Brainen:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am melinda:

Masters of War, yeah.
  9:41am P-90:

Quote of the day, logged already:
"I was gonna slag Bob Dylan, but why bother?"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Mike East:

agree with above, that opening set was dynamite. Good morning Bob, and all!
Avatar 9:46am Bob Brainen:

Couldn't resist the slaggin' P-90.

'Too Busy; Filled with Horns' is a great title. Or review. Or homework excuse.
  10:14am burpage:

oh deseri
Avatar 10:16am BEAVO:

The artist it the Mothers Of Invention. The album is Crusin' with Ruben and the Jets.
  10:18am mrmucho:

The band sounds pretty darn tight on this track--isn't this George Duke, et al?
  10:18am Stuart Rose:

Not entirely in agreement with you, Bob, on your take on Dylan. But I do think Dylan's melodies weren't always strong enough to warrant the length of of his mid- sixties songs. Desolation Row, for instance, didn't need to be 11 minutes.
Avatar 10:18am BEAVO:

Ok
Avatar 10:21am BEAVO:

Too bad Deseri wouldn't play, Try Stuff Up The Cracks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am Santos L Halper:

Morning Bob! Boy, everything i've heard from PJ is great. Any particular LPs i should start with?
Avatar 10:26am BEAVO:

Man, Dylan's songs like Desolation Row are about the words. it's a masterpiece. That's like saying Picasso's pictures don't need to be that big.
  10:29am Debbie:

Love the music you play on Saturday morning!!!
  10:32am Stuart Rose:

Good point about the primacy of the words. But, still, these are songs and if the melody or chord changes are not so compelling, you've got to wach the length.
Now, Like a Rolling Stone is perfect. Long enough for the brilliant portraiture of the words but musically tight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:34am Santos L Halper:

Thanks Bob, i'll dive in!
Avatar 10:35am BEAVO:

Zappa gave Ruben Guevara Pemissuin to name his band after the Mothers LP. And he produced it. No George Duke is not on it
Avatar 10:44am BEAVO:

Girls admitted free. Hmmm.
Avatar 10:44am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

It's about Desolation...but nevermind...
  10:46am SeanG:
