Hello, Therese. I hope you're feeling better tonight than you did last week.

JakeGould:

@egal: I like the overall design, but I think the lack of color is a weakness. There were two key colors on the old setup and I think they could be integrated here.

@Famous Original Sugarwolf: Do you have an impostor?

This is the first time I've seen the new web design- it's been a long time coming...

"Tapeheads" was indeed a Mike Nesmith production.

Lots of musician cameos in that movie.

My theory is that the redesigned homepage WAS in color. But they used Turntable 3 to upload the new design and it switched everything to black & white.

i like theories.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02am

Me weighing in -- the homepage redesign is confusing, and the upcoming programs thing is wrong, but we'll probably get used to it.

If memory serves, you can easily discern Portuguese from Spanish by the presence of the "sh" sound, which Spanish doesn't have.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27am
pacific standard simon:

Ironic. eh?
Avatar 1:29am
BadGuyZero:

For the first time ever my brother and I have been tasked with providing the turkey at this year's Thanksgiving gathering. We're trying to decide which prank to pull so that we never have to do this again. I bought a Cornish hen as it gives us two options:

1. The pregnant turkey prank [in which the hen is inserted into the turkey prior to serving, giving the impression that we acquired a pregnant bird]
2. Acting like I misread the 1 pound 6 ounce description as 16 pounds. It would be like Spinal Tap's "Stonehenge." Except with poultry.

We've also considered showing up with a few packs of turkey lunchmeat or a bunch of turkey TV dinners. Fret not, we are bringing proper turkey.

Cherry bomb "cooks" the stuffing.
  1:31am
JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: If nobody of the people you plan on serving that to are vegan or have dietary issues, I suggest getting Tokfurky stuff and even overdoing it with the explanation that it’s healthy and gluten free.

This month's sloth on my sloth calendar is named Ubu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37am
pacific standard simon:

Early Ubu had the best rhythm section -- what happened?
  1:44am
rw:

BGZ, I don't know, man. All of those options sound pretty great. You could say that you ordered a 16 lb turkey online and misplaced the decimal. It showed up TG morning and the supermarket was out of turkeys, so you're hoping everybody else brought enough mashed potatoes, etc. for a full meal.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46am
pacific standard simon:

Do the turkey, but tell everybody that they were all out of turkeys (shortage this year) so you got a pig with wings.
  1:47am
rw:

Pregnant turkey would go down in history though.
Avatar 1:48am
BadGuyZero:

@pss: Ooh...that's an idea. Get a ham and tie two drumsticks to it.
  1:49am
JakeGould:

@BadGuyZero: Get a 50 piece Chicken McNugget bucket for $9.99, but take a magic marker to it and change “Chicken” to “Turkey.”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:50am
pacific standard simon:

Speaking of "pigs with wings", Elvis Costello's memoirs are great reading. If you've been disappointed by the likes of Pete Townshend & Keith Richards, go with Elvis.

Still gots my Ork Records single of this. I get how Verlaine might have been right about Hell's indolent musicianship, but Hell's lyricism was worth keeping.
