Favoriting January 26, 2016: JOHN WOODS (Nitehawk Cinema)
Nitehawk Cinema Programming Director (and film music fanatic) John Woods joins Morricone Island to curate a selection of his favorite punk soundtracks. Many know John as the co-founder of Williamsburg's Reel Life Video way back in 1997...or as the lead singer of New York hardcore band Hell No but John has since been responsible for the fearless programming at Williamsburg's Nitehawk, including next month's punk-driven screenings of "Return of the Living Dead" and "Positive Force: More than a Witness," as well as March 3rd's WFMU doc "Sex and Broadcasting" which includes a Q&A with station manager Ken Freedman and director Tim K. Smith.

I can't wait to hear this. Morricone Island is always an excellent show. The combination of excellent film scores and expert talk is perfect.

Two "snow days" meaning two "telework" days meaning two days of working far more hours than if I'd gone in… How does that happen?

Love "Neighbors". Thomas Berger's book has the better ending, but Belushi and Aykroyd are great!

So happy ANOTHER STATE OF MIND got to DVD -- I'd worn out my VHS copy (Nth-generation dub, naturally) sometime in the 20th century… Tomas (of Beefeater fame) captured on film with actual cigarette… classick.
