Well said, Jorma

  9:05am Santos L Halper:

Sine Quah Non
  9:06am Jack:

🥁 9:07am David in ATL from NJ:

This really is a great song.
  9:08am 1whoknewcthulhu:

Good morning, Bob. Thanks for both Jorma and Maurice.
  9:09am Santos L Halper:

Always remember...Maurice
Avatar 9:09am BEAVO:

Jorma, still alive, whew!
Avatar 9:11am BEAVO:

Saw Graham Nash last night, 74 sounding better than ever, and still alive.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:13am WilliamfromDumont:

Signe Toly Anderson RIP. Apparently died the same day as Kantner.
Avatar 9:17am SmokinJ:

WoW!
Avatar 9:19am BEAVO:

Signe survived cancer in her 30s and died of complications from COPD. At 74
Avatar 9:20am BEAVO:

Don't Remeber the New Monkees
Avatar 9:23am mauri:

great saturday to all!
  9:23am Stuart Rose:

Sorry to hear about Signe Tolly Anderson
She really had a beautiful voice. Taking Off is still a pleasure to listen to and in small part because of her.
Avatar 9:25am SmokinJ:

JA Loves You! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am Santos L. Halper:

Fantastic trips, tsk tsk
Avatar 9:27am BEAVO:

There's a great live cd of JA's last show with Signe and another with Grace fom the next night in 66
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:27am WilliamfromDumont:

Jack Casady once said Takes Off was his fave LP.
Avatar 🥁 9:27am duke:

Hi Bob. Thanks for the JA this AM
Avatar 9:28am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

'Genesis' gorgeous & definitive, but I somehow never knew its' name
...& the Airplane some of the earliest music I ever heard in my life - absolutely formative...yet somehow, never got to know 'Takes Off' ; older brother's tastes not running to FolkRawk as much as mine, perhaps...Just reading in 'Love is the Song We Sing' notes that Grace literally replaced Signe onstage w/in a minute...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:30am Santos L. Halper:

@William: Yes, Jack is a monster on that from the start
@Beavo, yeah, wild how it was right in the middle of a 2 show per night run
Avatar 9:33am BEAVO:

Embryonic Journey
Avatar 9:35am BEAVO:

They were living the life by After Bathing At Baxters the groups code for tripping on acid
Avatar 9:38am BEAVO:

That was a goof for Satchmo.
Avatar 9:39am BEAVO:

Bet he was good on a blackberry
  9:40am Stuart Rose:

Yeah, Beavo, I got a bit nervous when Bob led off with Jorma.
And thanks for the tip on the live CD.

So Jack Cassidy was partial to Taking Off?
Avatar 9:41am BEAVO:

Hey o
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am dale:

never knew ed put out an lp - not a bad singer really.
Avatar 9:42am BEAVO:

Ed! who knew? Sounds Lorne Greenish.
Avatar 9:43am SmokinJ:

How kool!
  9:44am Rob Foto:

Did they even sell one of these Ed McMahon records?
Avatar 9:48am BEAVO:

Have you heard this old Bernie Sanders record? a total Shatner style thing. Hilarious. I thought it was. Larry David goof at first.
Avatar 9:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Have you seen there's a Woody Guthrie song he puts down his racist landlord by name - Trump's father...
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:52am WilliamfromDumont:

Amazing how fresh Brown and Roach stuff is 60 years later.
  9:58am Santos L Halper:

Now that's some good Monkees
Avatar 10:00am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Goffin & King - yup.
Avatar 10:00am BEAVO:

I saw a video of Max Roach doing a solo on just a high hat that was amazing. No other drums on stage.
  10:16am Stuart Rose:

Beavo, I did read somewhere that Marty Balin wasn't the acid worshippers Slick and Kantner were.
Thanks- I never knew After Bathing at Baxters meant.

Who Knows Where the Time Goes by Fairport is one of the greatest tunes ever
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Santos L. Halper:

"Oh written in damp cement
words to say your bath is best
if you don't forget to rinse
otherwise it makes no sense

Every other car is stacked
and every other wall is cracked
but Baxter's is booming"
  10:28am dinatekno:

This Fairport Convention song is lovely. I've never heard it before. Must obtain post haste. Thanks Bob!
Avatar 10:28am Marc Francis:

Good morning all!
  10:29am Stuart Rose:

Definitely a great song.
The Judy Collins version is also beautiful, so moving.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:31am melinda:

Nice Fairport.
Avatar 10:43am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- envy people get to hear 'Who Knows Where the Time Goes' for the 1st time...
Avatar 10:44am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...how great to come here & dig Monk to Monkees w/ completely no apologies...
  10:46am AZ Dave:

A side of Mott the Hoople I didn't know. Reminiscent of Kirwan/Welch era Fleetwood Mac.
  10:49am 1whoknewcthulhu:

I love hearing the Beach Boys cover the Beatles. Irony abounds!
Avatar 10:50am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...urm - harmonies covered handily...
  10:51am Dean:

Re: Fairport, Sandy Denny, and WKWTTG: Nancy Griffith does it nicely, too.
  10:56am Stuart Rose:

Rev, Monkees to Monk- that's our Bob, no apologies eccentric. That's why he gets my annual FMU dollars.

But I thinks Bob is wrong about Mott- their glam period records are pretty damn good.
  10:59am Listener Robert:

Thanks for bringing me around gently on a morning I dozed w a headache.
