Prior to me coming of age (ie before I was born) in MKE, there was a soul DJ named 'Dr. Bop'. Somewhere, if one were to search, is an archive of one of his shows. Also...supposedly he was spinning The Chefs 'Mr. Machine' at some point. I wish I had that 45. *Sigh*

The prison was coed, with women prisoners housed in a separate area, until overcrowding forced authorities to transfer the women to the federal prison in Pleasanton in 1977.

It has been male-only ever since then.
