Good start for the show, Chris M.

Is Dickie underrated?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am
Uncle Michael:

Nope. Not by ABB fans.
Avatar 9:08am
Howard F:

@Neanderthal Head Yes! He came up with many of the iconic Allman riffs, yet he's overshadowed by Duane's legendary status. He also got ousted from the band, I suppose that doesn't help?!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:09am
Uncle Michael:

I guess he's overshadowed by Duane by people that aren't that into the ABB.
Avatar 9:13am
Howard F:

@Uncle Michael I consider myself a fan, yet I didn't realize the scope of his contributions to the band until I read One Way Out, great book!

Uncle Michael:

I always missed him in the band. On the other hand...he had issues, Gregg had issues and they had issues with each other. When Gregg got sober, he was finally in a position where he didn't have to accommodate those issues and he fired Dickey. It was regrettable but understandable. Dickey and Warren were a great pair. Dickey and Derek were a great pair, and Warren and Derek were a great pair. I still missed Dickey. It's a shame that Gregg and Dickey couldn't see it through.

And yes, this is a great set. I'm glad I finally have the kind of Thursday morning where I can enjoy it!

On a related note, Chris: I think it's been mentioned before, but you should set it up so we can clicky star the Imaginary Radio image you put up each week, like Ken does with his gifs.

@JP from KC: well i'll try to figure that out for next time.

Avatar 11:00am
Chris M.:

@Cecile: yes!
@đ¢ ÞäŦ: only if he really wants to see it. it's pretty dark and if you haven't seen all the other movies before it it won't make much sense. but it's one of the best marvel movies i've seen.
Avatar 11:01am

@đ¢ ÞäŦ: Guardians of the Galaxy is way better for a ten year old imo. i loved it. it's more like Star Wars.
Avatar 11:02am

You should, dcp. It's actually a good story and my friend who had only seen Ant-Man could follow it pretty well.

I love Ant-Man. Ant-Man or GotG would be great.

I saw brutal truth without knowing much about them in 1998 and was surprised by how tiny the drummer's kit was. (especially because they were playing with cannibal corpse & a bunch of other excessively outfitted bands). they were fantastic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11am

Tiny kit = big heart.

Maybe that's the true difference between grindcore and death metal.

They were beautiful and were a great contrast to the metal machismo plaguing the rest of the bands (and most of the audience, which was surprising for Berkeley but I guess shouldn't have been that surprising).
