that sun kil moon song is a lousy song, but it got me to listen to Onward, which is now the only Yes song I like. So thanks for that.

I was treated to a terrible (to me they all are) Yes song in the car on my way home, I couldn't turn it off for a minute and it got stuck in my head.

Just say no to Yes.

Well, that SKM track is pretty much the only thing FCC-approved on the record - but glad it led you to Yes, a band I can honestly say I haven't really listened to -

I try to avoid them at all costs. But that's a pretty song.

@Cecile: Heaven 17 -- gotta love a band name that's a reference to Clockwork Orange. Was gonna say it's a shame there's never been a Johnny Zhivago, but I just Googled and learned that there was a UK punk band with that name.

"Saturday Night Fish Fry" is a good V/A comp of New Orleans music. Any album with Lee Dorsey's "Give It Up" though has already won half the battle in my book.

Glad you all enjoyed the trip through the past! - yes, many bands on Dangerhouse, I can't remember them all - there was another less important record label then, which I can't remember the name of now...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:44pm
mariano:

SST's "Blasting Concept" compilations have some good stuff too. Then again, they also have some pretty bad stuff. Husker Du's "Erase Today" on Vol 2 is one of my favorite songs of theirs. @Cheri Pi: SNFF is up on YouTube, though I guess it doesn't help if you're somewhere with no web access. @Martha: see, that's a big reason I love these boards so much -- I get educated every time. I know the Priest song, had no idea it was a Fleetwood Mac song originally. Wow. Next you're gonna tell me "Tainted Love" wasn't written by Soft Cell! [ducks]
