"The Very Best Of The Monkees" is the best album title ever, unless you're The Monkees.

Which is to say that Station Manager Ken existed at the beginning of time, and will exist at the end of time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42am
joeray:

@PSS: FCC "Safe Harbor" 10:00pm to 6:00am for uncencored recorded material only not the on air DJ.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49am
joeray:

I contacted Ken years ago when the college station I do a radio show on was trying to ignore safe harbor, worrying about getting fined by the FCC. Ken told me there were no violations for language during safe harbor hours since it's inception. Now I hear censoring on many WFMU shows at safe harbor times...strange!

Bonjour from Paris, what is up ?

Pierre, mon frere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54am
pacific standard simon:

@joeray - there are considerations beyond the FCC. Making the station look safe for loans, for instance.

I watched Chelsea Girls, with Ondine in attendance and making running commentary, at a theater in the late '80s. Best reality show ever.

pierre:

I hate when the french government is forbidding a protest
Avatar 4:24am
Vincent Nifigance:

What are you wanting to protest?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25am
pacific standard simon:

Probably protesting a forbidding of a protest.
Avatar 4:26am
Vincent Nifigance:

Makes sense.
Avatar 4:27am
Vincent Nifigance:

Pierre, what don't they want you to protest? Are they just stopping you because of the football? Would they stop you any other time?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29am
pacific standard simon:

Did Gil Evans have something to do with this?
Avatar 4:30am
pierre:

That now, yes !
and well, as much as I'm involve, I hate when it decide that protesting is forbidden for everyone. They don't want people to protest against a new law about "work" that they are trying to pass. They involve the police force being tired, since three months, because of the attacks, and the Euro Soccer competition. But yeah, the fact is that the police has been very keen to arrest and hit protesters already, so I guess that they could also rest with that.
Avatar 4:31am
Vincent Nifigance:

In what way are they trying to screw-over workers?
Avatar 4:32am
Vincent Nifigance:

"The labour reform makes it easier for employers to hire and fire workers.
It would also relax the limit on working hours. The government forced the changes through the National Assembly last month without a vote."
Avatar 4:37am
Vincent Nifigance:

If they pushed it through without a vote, I say you protest without any consideration for their feelings on the mattter!
Avatar 4:40am
pierre:

yeah, I believe that quote might answer your question. :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40am
pacific standard simon:

At least here in America, everything has to be voted on, which means that very little ever gets done.

You pretty much don't have to pronounce either of the final "i"s of Masayuki Takayanagi, except as glottal stops.

Avatar 5:53am

"l'idole des jaunes" is a play on word with "l'idole des jeunes" (which is a Johnny Hallyday song), and jeunes and jaunes are very similar in pronunciation.
  5:54am
Ajay:

Will DEFINITELY send copies to WFMU. Waiting for copies to return in July
