- that's how jazz git is supposed to be. almost all "jazz" guitar SUCKS because they (with a high degree of uppityness) think one shouldn't have distortion on their instruments.

coelacanth:

...oh, and Hello. 'sorry.

...like they still think it's subbing for banjo...
Story John McLaughlin says he meets Miles & is playing impressive BeBop for him - & Miles turns his amp way up & says 'Play like Hendrix!'
In general - across Genres - it kinda amazes me people go for so few Tones from ElectricGuitar. Didn't Hendrix prove it's wide open ??
Avatar 7:51pm
northguineahills:

@Rev: Miles was trying to get Hendrix to play w/ him and then he died, so, he went w/ Pete Cosey.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
coelacanth:

haha! yeah.
- well, most people still consider Hendrix a "rock" guitarist too, so...
Avatar 7:52pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Miles: 'I didn't want Hendrix to play w/ me - I wanted to play w/ him.'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm
coelacanth:

ngh, i don't know what's true, but one source says Miles wanted to play with Jimi, but also required Jimi to pay him!
...i wouldn't put it past Miles, but -i wasn't there.
Avatar 7:56pm
northguineahills:

Wow, hadn't head that anecdote, and at the time, that could be Miles.
Avatar 7:56pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Miles was there when Jazz was Popular. Miles wanted to be Popular & get Paid. Sure.
