Morning Jeff.
  3:12am
Nick:

Thank you Jeff...off to a great start. Morning Bentangle (although it is late night for me on the west coast).
Avatar 3:14am
Jeff Conklin:

Morning, Nick and Ben. Will you guys be able to tune in live when I move ahead three hours?
Avatar 3:14am
Bentangle:

And early evening for me in Australia, haha. That Pharoah Sanders is amazing.
Avatar 3:16am
Bentangle:

Yes, it will be 2pm in the afternoon for me, and I currently do not have a job to get in the way of tuning in heh.
  3:17am
Nick:

@Jeff-sometimes, not regularly @Bentangle I love "Prince of Peace" too, especially Leon Thomas' vocals
  3:21am
Eric Hat:

Yeah Tim Story! Morning Jeff and e'rybody
Avatar 3:26am
Jeff Conklin:

Hey Eric.

That's a bummer, Nick. That's half a bummer, Ben.
  3:28am
Stefan:

Good morning Jeff & listeners.
  3:29am
John in Texas:

Good morning everyone! @Jeff - is this the last early AM show?
Avatar 3:32am
Bentangle:

Who needs meaningful employment and a steady income when you have the jams? ;)

@Nick Exquisite, I must find this record.
Avatar 3:34am
Bentangle:

I will miss cooking dinner to the show, though.

Hola, El Jefe! I believe this show will be appearing at 9pm my time, which is fine with me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39am
Smilty69:

Hello Jeff and friends. I usually tune in from work but at least I can listen to the archives.
Avatar 3:40am
Jeff Conklin:

Hey, Simon.

Yes, I'm very excited that West Coasters get me at 9pm on a Sunday night. Excellent radio time, especially for what I do.

Gonna need you to tell everyone at the Farmer's Market to tune in..
Avatar 3:41am
Jeff Conklin:

@Smilty:

True. And the archives are usually up within 30 minutes of the show's end
  3:43am
John in Texas:

???
  3:43am
Nick:

Yeah, it'll be a great time slot for you Jeff.
Avatar 3:43am
Jeff Conklin:

What up, John
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44am
pacific standard simon:

Although it does seem a little early for the kind of music played. The Avant Ghetto is quintessential midnight music.
  3:52am
John in Texas:

I'm at work enjoying the show. Congrats on the new time. Any idea who will be taking over this shift?
Avatar 3:54am
Jeff Conklin:

Well, it's the East Coast's turn for the midnight action ;)

Honestly, John I'm not sure. Should be on the site? (or in the last email newsletter)

Circle Time with Mark R is getting this time. A worthy successor.

I think the records skipping.

@Beavo: People always say that about Reich's "It's Gonna Rain"!
Avatar 4:03am
BEAVO:

Ah minimalist
Avatar 4:05am
BEAVO:

I used to play Reich's Drumming to annoy my roommates

Eiderdown:

Good morning Jeff! Glad to join in on the last swing shift of yours for awhile...tuning in from the WFMU app right now

@BEAVO: ha,ha!

I am used to dealing with the time difference; many of my favorite WFMU shows are on at 6 AM, my time, or while I am at work.
  4:12am
Geoff in Bolton:

Good luck with the new timeslot man! (Monday morning in the UK just got a little bit tougher though).
  4:15am
lunch:

good luck in the new time slot. Can I have yor email? I want to send you a guitar track I'm working on.
  4:16am
Eric Hat:

Love William Fritch! Got to know him when he lived in Flagstaff some years back. Amazing talent.
Avatar 4:17am
Jeff Conklin:

Hey Adam!

Hey Geoff...just wake up earlier!
Avatar 4:17am

@EricL: Nice. He's new to me but I see he's put a lot of stuff out...

Eric Hat:

Someone you could call a genius in all sincerity.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19am
joeray:

I'll still be able to listen live and at work. Jeff, did you ever program music specifically for your show's timeslot? I'm thinking especially of the 5am-6am segments of your show.
Avatar 4:20am
Jeff Conklin:

@Joeray: Definitely, it may change slightly but we'll have to see...
  4:22am
Geoff in Bolton:

Wake up earlier? On a Monday? Are you insane man?
  4:29am
Eiderdown:

Ha. Gotta agree with ya Geoff!
  4:30am
Eiderdown:

Though what better way to ease into your day? Can you set your alarm to turn on WFMU? :)
  4:30am
Stefan:

In Berlin the show will be on early Monday mornings - I might catch the 2nd half of the programme
Avatar 4:32am
Jeff Conklin:

I don't want to hear any bellyaching about getting up early from anyone.
  4:34am
Nick:

That Carl Stone track was great...I just looked up the release...so glad it's out https://unseenworlds.bandcamp.com/album/electronic-music-from-the-seventies-and-eighties
  4:35am
Geoff in Bolton:

Sorry Jeff. And I like the way you're taking a hard line here. #nomercy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:36am
joeray:

I'm really glad that Shibuco Carl Stone is available on that disc. Stone names all his compositions after Asian restaurants...
  4:40am
Nick:

Yeah. It's cool it also has some really early works. It says they were "realized on the Buchla 200, date to the early 1970s while Stone was a student of James Tenney and Morton Subotnick."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:41am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

i was just meditating on the concept of Sunyata earlier this morning. That first set playlist looks pretty cosmic, must remember to revisit archivally...

Hey guido
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:56am
Guido from Cologne:

Years ago a buddy of mine found the Wegmüller record set for a rediculous price.
It appeared that the Tarot cards included had been used in a ritualistic way actually by the previous owner. soot and stuff
  4:59am
Nick:

Geez, what kind of rituals were they doing??
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:59am
Guido from Cologne:

Another thing I learned is, that New York neo-space-rock duo White Hille named themselfes after one section of the Tarot album: when entrance of Walter Wegmüller is announced ("and now the man from the white hills" ... which means the Swiss Alpes).
  5:00am
Eric Hat:

Just grab a copy of Tarot off of Discogs for the low low price of 750.00?
  5:30am
ifff:

loving your show on this lazy monday morning
Avatar 5:35am

Thank you, ifff

Best of luck in your new slot, Jeff. A whole new audience awaits.

Thank you for the monday morning sounds during all those months Jeff!
Wish you lucky hands in the new slot!
CU sometime again on the live playlist!
  5:56am
Nick:

Thanks Jeff...I'll check out that Itasca live show. Good luck with the new time slot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:56am
the Canterbury wood-elf:

Thanks for the show Jeff. A shame for us UK listeners: the new slot means I'll rarely be able to catch any future shows live, not even the final hour... but i'll be listening on the archive. Peace.
  7:52pm
Circe999:

Awesome show! Thanks Jeff!
