Yes - so glad to be back! Thank you to Gaylord Fields and Irwin Chusid for their brilliant versions of an A440 show while I was away!

Rynac:

I always think of the Coney Island "Cyclone" when I hear this John Adams piece!

@Rynac - if it was about the Cyclone I'd think the title should be "Short Thrash in a Rickety Machine"!!!

welcome home, Bethany. I was also away on a surreal journey to Standing Rock, and while I was away there was this national election...

Ken From Hyde Park:

Hi, Bethany. How do you like the new mascot Bosco?
Avatar 8:30pm
Bethany Ryker:

Bosco is a lovely, representation of the station....and a dog (!) so thumbs up!!
Avatar 8:34pm
ranjit:

I'm not sure I believe that!
Avatar 8:35pm
Bethany Ryker:

Oh, dear - do I have canine confusion?
Avatar 8:37pm
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Bosco is a disembodied black kiggyhead on the moon. Everybody knows that.
Avatar 8:37pm
ranjit:

My dogs have all been at least 25% cat, so I'm no expert
Avatar 8:37pm
Jack Scheff:

Yay for Brooklyn Rider! Do you know the Knights... their orchestra? It would be really cool to hear something from them too
Avatar 8:39pm
Jack Scheff:

@ranjit I know a cat back in Chicago that is fully 100% dog ^^
Avatar 8:48pm
Bethany Ryker:

Yes! Love the Knights! Thanks for the request, stay tuned for something from them in the next few weeks!
Avatar 8:50pm
Bethany Ryker:

I was looking for the % of shared DNA of cats and dogs to give myself a grade on Bosco's species. A cursory search didn't pull up anything, but I'm curious no less!
Avatar 8:53pm
ranjit:

I found this: "A cross between a panther and a squirrel: 55-million-year-old fossil reveals shared ancestor of cats and dogs. Domestic cats and dogs, along with other carnivorous animals like lions and bears, all share lineage with a tree-dwelling mammal whose origins remain a mystery."
Avatar 8:56pm
Jack Scheff:

Sweet, thanks Bethany! That will give me extra incentive to tune in every Tuesday!

Gaylord Fields:

Bethany, it was my privilege to borrow your baton for an hour!

Thx DJ BR !
