Hi JOE McG you always play sets like the current that hit the spot--it's quite uncanny so I thought I'd check in and say thanks

Does anybody know whether the Dust on the Nettles compilation saw a 4CD version at some point? That is, the readily available 3CD version plus one disk?

melinda:

@Dean: I assumed it was always a 3 cd set. That's what I have, and I got it about a year ago.

Dean:

Thanks, @melinda. I swear I saw a reference to a special fourth disk offering, but I can't find it...

One of my best nights - R & L screaming at each other between songs, L slapping R, killing songs, just killing them, last tour at Bayou on K in DC.....

(i just noticed how much Linda Thompson's voice sounds like Melanie Safka's.)

Interesting story about the Conway Twitty that I should have talked about on the air (from Wikipedia):
On July 17, 1975, "Hello Darlin'" was played and broadcast to a worldwide audience as part of the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. Actually, it was a Russian language version of the song. Called "Privet Radost," the song — commissioned by the Apollo crew — was played by the American astronauts to Russian cosmonauts (of the Soyuz crew) as "a gesture of goodwill." Twitty worked with a language professor from the University of Oklahoma to record the phonetic Russian version of the song.
