@whosondephone: Don't you love messing with the antenna until you geta good signal??
Avatar 12:34am

Thank you, Ike and PMD.

Hello, Mario.

Anyone recognize this tune yet?
  12:42am
rw:

This tune sounded a little familiar to me for a second but then I lost it. Now I'm curious!
  12:43am
Mario:

It sounds like a traditional folk, but cant remember the name...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:44am
Whosondephone:

@jeff Conklin: Unfortunately the ground going to the cable system is not connected. Doesn't matter where the antenna is facing.

It was very nice tweaking the boom box antenna. It's been almost a decade.

sounding like pigpen era grateful dead to me!
  12:48am
rw:

Now I want to say the melody is a Robert Fripp loop riff... or maybe Steve Reich... Probably way out of the ballpark.
  12:49am
Mario:

And a bit Ethiopia by Bill Laswell
Avatar 12:49am
Jeff Conklin:

Hagbard got it.

It's the main melody from the Dead's cover of Bobby Blue Bland's 'Turn on Your Lovelight"

Hagbard Celine! Nice!

turn on your love light. dont know who wrote it. but this song says pigpen
  12:52am

I think Bobby "Blue" Bland wrote it. Or at least recorded it.

thx rw. when more of these melodies came in, i could hear it. and the name helped give it away.

Digging this Swedish psychedelia. It seems that every country had its own psychedelic scene, sometimes years after ours. But time is an illusion, and great lysergic minds think alike!

Yeah, I was reading about the Oakland tragedy this morning and thinking how many times I've been to spaces just like that. Often for shows. Very sad.
