Avatar 9:49am Scraps:

In fact, lots of jazz musicians cover Time After Time. I don't know why, but it's become an almost standard.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:26am Brian in UK:

Prague is a beautiful city. Except the building that houses the municipal art gallery. You can use ironical, in its truest sense as it is Sixties functionality. Designed by a committee that was not talking to each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:27am Doug Schulkind:

I am about to crack open my third liter of seltzer during the show. I need an intervention.

(a) The tap water in Pittsburgh is godawful
(b) I drink seltzer in such quantities that it wouldn't be prudent.
(c) Really godawful.

@βrian Guess it is what is on show inside. This stunning collection was there when we visited.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:34am Uncle Michael:

Quantities is why it WOULD be prudent. No disposable bottles, a fraction of the cost. Get a water cooler and buy 5 gallon jugs of spring water. Again, a fraction of the cost and no waste.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am melinda:

re: Bobbie Gentry- true, there is so much more than Ode to Billy Joe. But that's such a great song, it seems like it should make people more interested in her work. To each their own, I guess.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:36am Brian in UK:

Avatar 🥁 10:42am βrian:

Avatar 10:42am annie:

Avatar 10:44am burke:

My best to your family. Music is the leading pain reliever on the market.
Avatar 🥁 10:44am βrian:

BTW, I didn't realize "seltzer" was still in current usage. I associate it with classic movies like The Thin Man.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:44am doctorjazz:

Any broken bone is no fun, but legs/hips would be much worse likely, hopefully just bad bruising, though.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:45am doctorjazz:

Free jazz time? cool!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:45am Doug Schulkind:

I was planning to dash over to see Pops right after the show. We'll see if I have to leave any earlier. (Fingers crossed.)
  10:45am Listener Robert:

A broken rib is minimal in some senses, but not usually when it comes to pain -- ouch! Because you can't immobilize it unless you stop breathing.
  10:46am Listener Robert:

Playing rugby, I pulled an abdominal oblique by its attachment to a couple of ribs, and that was bad enough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am Doug Schulkind:

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:48am Jeff Golick:

Keith Tippett, of Ovary Lodge and many other lodges, is in my humble opinion, an under-recognized genius. (The mutton-chop sideburns probably did him no favors in this regard.)

Are vegetarians allowed to wear mutton chops?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:50am Jeff Golick:

On the outside, yes.
Avatar 10:51am still b/p:

Hope your dad's not got much hurt. As Robert mentions, I know anything with ribs means coughing, sneezing, laughing, bending all get uncomfortable. Even when I just wrenched or zoinked the intercostals, I wanted the doc to say yes, a rib was officially cracked or broken -- "Say it IS so, Doc!" -- so the discomfort would be recognized or certified or something and I wasn't just being a baaaaby.
Avatar 10:52am glenn:

anything rib related takes forever to heal, in my experience anyway.
