My friend is reading the Robbie Robinson Book. He says it is really good so far. That is next. Right now I'm reading the Johnny Marr Set The Boy Free.

Nice tribute to John Wetton...
Avatar 9:21am Scraps:

Good enough...!
  9:22am Jack:

I always thought John Wetton had a beautiful voice, love his singing.
  9:24am Mark R:

"Lament" is one of my all-time favorites! Maybe because my brother gave me this album for my 15th birthday.
  9:26am Kevin:

I will always think of STARLESS when I think of John Wetton. There is a great you tube vid. of old K.C. you should check out.
  9:26am Mark R:

"Winter Light" is another old fave--Bob, hearing this album on your show a couple years ago inspired me to re-acquire it. I think it's one of their best.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Sullivan Ballou:

What is this...? The "lets play songs that sound like Pink Floyd show"?
  9:27am Mark R:

Well, Oregon certainly broke the spell, then, Sullivan
  9:27am Mark R:

Colin Walcott was a motherfucker.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:33am WilliamfromDumont:

Morning Bob and all. Bob, the menu music on the Musical History DVD features a Garth Hudson publishing demo for Katie's Been Gone. Well worth checking out. John Wetton RIP.

Don't hear Olu Dara nearly enough

Hiya, Bob, and all. Sorry to have missed Richard Manuel.
Avatar 9:43am Scraps:

Weekend! Yes!
Avatar 9:46am Scraps:

God, I love all the Young Marble Giants parts, though I was initially disappointed that none of them were up to Colossal Youth. But that was truly perfect.
  9:46am Listener Robert:

That "Light-eyed", unless I'm misaligned w the playlist, sounded a lot like a piece from "Jesus Christ, Superstar".
  9:48am Listener Robert:

Not so much the tune, but the bass line.
🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:53am tadpoles:

@Scraps... Agree.."Colossal Youth" will never date.
  10:01am Listener Robert:

Darn, don't just leave us hanging, Reporter Brainen! Can't you describe the scene outside a little, please?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:03am melinda:

Quiolent, haha
  10:03am Listener Robert:

Could someone at the station patch the security camera at the front door into Ustream, please?
Avatar 10:12am SmokinJ:

Swingin' set bb...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am melinda:

I like Strange New World. Sounds like it belongs in a soundtrack somewhere.
Avatar 10:23am Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Yeah - & NRBQ's arrangement of Monk made it sound like incidental film music - like 'ThisBoy' in 'HardDay'sNight' or something - really nice. This 'Finnish Line' is just this side of PenguinCafeOrchestra...Wonderful corners of Music not always thot about - Thx for presenting them.

  10:36am Stuart Rose:

Beat me to it, Andy.
But was she convicted?
And was she an almost affectless singer? Am I remembering correctly here?
Avatar 10:37am annie:

this comments board for BB's show, i just sit back and read taking in all the knowledge..
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:38am Sem Chumbo:

@Stuart Rose: from wikithingy:
She has maintained a private profile since 1977, following her conviction for misdemeanor negligent homicide in connection with the death of her boyfriend, former Olympic skier Spider Sabich.
Avatar 10:45am SmokinJ:

GL & Playboys rule..
  10:47am davefromtoronto:

such a strange voice gary lewis had - hard to describe, strangely unmasculine and emotionless.
  10:48am Stuart Rose:

Thanks, Sem.
I think, though, I'll wait until I'm more awake before looking up an explanation of such a refined act as misdemeanor negligent homicide. Sounds like just the crime a leggy, affectless model-chanteuse would commit.
Avatar 10:52am SmokinJ:

I only saw Gary & PB once, about 72'or so. He blew my mind as I never knew he was such a decent guitarist. He was playing through two Fender Twins and I was right up front. Great show.
Avatar 10:54am SmokinJ:

With a Stratocaster of course!
  10:57am Douglas:

I saw Family with the Nice and Ten Years After at the Fillmore East,April 1969
Avatar 10:58am Tidepoolbay:
