Stream sounds like it's warming up for Sinner's Crossroads!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:03am
Amanda Nazario:

Sorry to disappoint, but feel free to sin during the show
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04am

LOL! When have I not?

I'm committing sloth.

I'm eyeballing Friday as a possible payday and getting avaricious AF.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am

Spending spree after my show, James.

HI BADASS BITCH!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:14am
Amanda:

The two Entenmann's cakes in my fridge currently will tell you where I'm at re: gluttony.

@sugarwolf HIIIIII! So great to see you Saturday. Hope lunch was fun!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am
listener james from westwood:

Entenmann's crumb cake was usable as currency in my home and that of my mom's parents. My uncle had a nasty habit of leaving an empty crumb cake box in the fridge. A miracle he lived so long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Good morning, Drummers. I don't know which shade of gray background best matches the skies here today. I guess the lighter hue to the east; darker toward west.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:17am
Uncle Michael:

I'm an Entenmann's cheese danish man.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am
Amanda:

Entenmann's cakes RANKED:

1. Fudge iced golden
2. Marshmallow iced devil's food
3. Fudge iced devil's food
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:24am
Amanda:

Crumb cake is top 20...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:25am
Peter Tork:

Ken HP, today there is no dark or light, only shades of gray.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am
Dominick:

Ooooh! Manfred Mann version
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:28am
listener james from westwood:

I find of late the crumb cake has gone downhill, so agree there. I used to be a fiend for those boxes of 6 or 8 smaller pastries and that cheese danish cake.

Hi, Amanda. Love Flamingo!
Hey once again I am not getting the iPhone version of this page. Has this been otherwise noted? Thanks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:40am
Amanda:

@KP, not my domain, sorry! I can get it on my own new iPhone, if that helps any.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:43am
listener james from westwood:

Whoo, Tuscadero!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:47am
Uncle Michael:

I didn't know the Bangles covered this.

sugarwolf:

Oops, marshmallow iced devils food is one of my faves.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am
Parq:

Uncle M, who had the original?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am
Parq:

James, I have a co-worker who makes a crumb cake that would ruin you for other crumb cakes the way a trip to Louisiana ruins you for other oysters.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:56am
Amanda:

I think the La De Da's were the original of that song, unless someone else came before...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:57am
Chris Crash:

AmanD'OH!!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:00am
Uncle Michael:

yes, La De Da's...as far as I know. 1966
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:02am
Parq:

Well la dee da, la dee da ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am
listener james from westwood:

@Parq: Ballpark the crumb:cake ratio on that coworker's cake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:06am
Chris Crash:

If it ain't Stiff, it ain't worth...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:08am
Chris Crash:

I wish I had as strong of opinions on cake as I do on pie...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:12am
Parq:

James, I'm no good at estimating quantity, but it's a nice thick layer of crumb. Even so, it's the flavor of the crumbs that really puts it over.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13am
Parq:

Chris, I prefer pie and ice cream to most cakes, too. Traditional white birthday cake leaves me cold.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:14am
Chris Crash:

I will say this though...a Fudgie The Whale cake on my birthday is a truly wonderful thing. With extra crunchies!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:17am
Amanda:

The person who brought crunchies out of the Carvel cakes and into froyo parlours everywhere is RICH by now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:19am
Ken From Hyde Park:

For my birthday yesterday, I scored a tasty red velvet cake with chocolate frosting. Then I played The Ramones singing "Happy Birthday" to Burnsie off the YouTube.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20am
listener james from westwood:

I like at least a 50:50 crumb: cake ratio and if they're gonna go heavy on either side, make it da crumz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
Chris Crash:

A movie similar to The Founder, but focusing on the Ray Kroc of bringing crunchies everywhere from Carvels
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:21am
listener james from westwood:

Happy birthday, Ken!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:25am
Amanda Nazario:

Ken-- Happy birthday! And go to hell, you ol' bastid!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:37am
listener james from westwood:

Not a big cell phone game person, but I've seen mention of Tapped Out here and there. Too many phone games take the heroin approach: first hit's free, pay for anything beyond this point. Gimme the whole game à la Doom or Quake or even Gone Home and let me slither back to my hole.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:41am
Chris Crash:

My friend just gave me a bluetooth videogame controller for my phone, where you strap in your phone sideways and play games that way
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:42am
Chris Crash:

It's a cool concept, but I don't know of too many games where you need a controller!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:44am
Amanda:

@Chris that seems very "NES laser gun" in a great way!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:46am
Chris Crash:

It's pretty cool! I did find the first Sonic game eventually in the google play store and was able to run it with the controller...it works super well!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:49am
Ken From Hyde Park:

Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am
Brian C.:

Flossy mare? I thought it was "saucy". I wonder when this Darlin' Companion demo was recorded?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:54am
Amanda:

@LJFW, I am totally in agreement with you about that model. I've gotten in too deep with a handful of those games. But Tapped Out is so fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I need people to enable my (new) addiction.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am
tomasz.:

sorry i'm late <3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:55am
Amanda:

Hi Brian C.! It was always "flossy" but I think someone sang it as "saucy" in a cover version. Johnny Cash maybe?

@tomasz: DEAD TO ME
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:10am

Related: Last year at the post-conference karaoke night, one of my fellow copy editors OWNED "Lovefool." Utterly perfect down to the kittenish flourishes and high notes.

@Brian, I WISH I had been the singer; she was reeeeally good. It turns out that 2016 event was my first-ever crack at karaoke. I went with "Love Will Tear Us Apart," being more suitable to my ¼-octave range. Thanks, ultra-strong margaritas!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am
Parq:

Just in case anybody else was going nuts trying to figure it out, "Le Siffleur et Son Chien" is better known as "The Whistler and his Dog" and is known to New Yorkers as the theme used by Office Joe Bolton on his Three Stooges program.
