Check out Gramps' model train sets when you get a chance. They're amazing.

Rich in Washington:

Gramps is - at least last time I saw him - true to his name, strangely youthful looking up close, but also looks ancient at the same time.
Somewhere - and it guts me that I can't find it - I have a picture I took of Gramps showing me an old cigar box fiddle he'd found in a junk store. He said he thought it might be a 100 years old.

Dan Bodah:

I had the chance to introduce Gramps to a crowd at the Hobofest music festival a few years ago. He was polishing a rusty dobro with sandpaper when I was introduced to him.

"he was polishing a rusty dobro with sandpaper" sounds like a line from a song!

I saw Cordelia's Dad ages ago, they were really good.

I guess Arthur Miles, Lonely Cowboy,
counts as country music, except I guess it's Western Music.

Dan Bodah:

@Kat, yeah -- they're amazing! Seen them many times. @WMH, I didn't mention poor Arthur Miles, who is sadly a total cypher...where was he from? What else did he do? How did he learn sygyt and come to incorporate it into western music??!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm
Webhamster Henry:

I am Arthur Miles.
