Doug Schulkind:

Henry Flynt is perfect music for peeing in a cup. I am sitting in a clinic waiting to be drug-tested for my internship at a nursing home. I think I'm going to ACE this rest!
Avatar 11:18am
northguineahills:

I'm lucky, I've only been drug tested once in my life, and that was for a job in 2000.
  11:19am
Doug Schulkind:

Back in 1983, I had to take a lie-detector test to get a job working in the stockroom at J
Avatar 11:19am
Kurt Gottschalk:

doug, i hope FLYNT doesn't show up in your urine!
  11:20am
Dean:

@Doug: Debussy's "Jardins sous la Pluie" is also an effective urine coaxer. Also, I don't believe your lie detector story.

I'm loving the hell out of today's show, Kurt. My office-mate is gone and I can actually hear it.

what Uncle M said, sans the office mate

Usually can't listen until late in the show on Thursday, dentist visit freed up some morning time, digging the hell out of the show, have to say!
  11:30am
Doug Schulkind:

...at J and R Music World. I "failed" the polygraph and didn't get the job. The examiner asked me if I was gay, to which I answered "no." All these years I've wondered, may be I answered wrong.
Avatar 11:31am
Kurt Gottschalk:

thanks, unk and veep!

wut they asked you what doug?
  11:31am
Dean:

@doctorjazz: I treat dentist visits involving ultrasonic cleanings that randomly resonate across a portion of mandible as, essentially, a WFMU stream.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am
coelacanth∅:

maybe you answered wrong in terms of their needing to fill a quota of "gay" employees?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34am
doctorjazz:

It was a bit like the Flynt, have to say...
Avatar 11:36am
northguineahills:

A polygraph for J&R Music World?!!! It's not the FBI (or is it?) I had a friend work there (early 2000s), and if he could get in....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:38am
doctorjazz:

You never know, J and R had some great stuff at one time, spent many, many hours in the racks (NOT THE RACKS!). If you weren't trustworthy, who know what could have happened to those goodies...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am
coelacanth∅:

i applied to work at rite-aid doing photoprocessing, when i first got to town, and would've had to consent to periodic drug testing. i said never mind - even though i would've passed those tests without a problem.
Avatar 11:42am
steve:

i was surprised about Doug's J&R polygraph, but then i remembered the one time i worked at a retail store at a big new jersey mall employees were stealing stuff constantly.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:44am
coelacanth∅:

i used to steal from employers that i didn't respect &/or were screwing me over. i have no shame. i never stole from the fair ones; the ones who don't make the world suck.
