I have a question for Joe Carducci.
If he was writing Rock and the Pop Narcotic for the first time this year, would it be the same or different? How would it be different?

Personally if I see one more artfully assemebled "authentic" band on an NPR Tiny Desk concert I'll throw up. Give me heartfelt bullshit any day.

Sonic Youth was probably their peak. And then they never made a second record with them. And it seemed like they would release anything by anybody, where before it was more giving people who were great but not signable a chance.
Avatar 1:46pm

Less thought seemed to going into their catalog. That was probably the 20 iterations Joe and Mugger were talking about.

One of them beat up on the Big Boys when they were staying with them, saying they were gay.

Yeah, it kind of tempered my like of them. I respsect them, some of their songs are my favorite, but they're just said things in the past. Also, I loved the Dicks and the Big Boys and thought they were great bands and also brave as fuck. Listen to U-Ron's interview (really red) Diane did. Texas in the 80s was terrifying.
