Wow. I don't play album cuts off Cool For Cats nearly enough. Love and completely forgot about this song. Also agree about the singles/album couplet. If Chris had done nothing else in his career but write those two lines in If I didn't Love You he would still have earned his rock n roll immortality. (I had to leave the room while it was playing -- just too much. What an amazing song.)

WPIX was my intro to Squeeze and a ton of other fantastic bands. Totally formative. I was at the Clash show at the Palladium (London Calling tour) when, at intermission, it was announced that the station had changed its format. Everybody booed.
