A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I'm reading a playwrights guidebook right now since im in the midst of writing a play, but the novel im cheating on with the guidebook is Robert Coover's Huck Out West, which is supposed to be about Huck Finn as an adult, but it's really about some dark n'gritty dude who bears little resemblance to the original character (he shoots a guy, for fuck's sake). Also read 2 books by Ottessa Moshfegh this fall (Eileen & Homesick for Another World). Not sure I get why Eileen was on a literary shortlist. I got bored.

Also..can't really promise that Sutree is full of hope and promise.

i'm wondering where my heating oil levels are at. my basement door is frozen shut and being in that basement is not fun to begin with. i guess i should chip at it though, before i'm in trouble.

electric blankets are handy. i had to put one over my car motor a couple times, since i don't have a block heater.
