I coach children in football, and our fun is helping them have fun. People who come watch have fun seeing us all have fun. It's like when some WFMU DJs have live acts in, and can have fun helping them have fun and helping people have fun listening to them. Fun expands as it's passed around.

There is a long history of FMU air personalities objecting vehemently to that sort of thing, going all the way back to the old mid-aughts message board (where many of us first developed our on-line names and avatars). One in particular (no names, please) made a mission of decrying what was perceived as an arrogant attempt by listeners to take attention away from the programming. As I said in the midst of that original spat, what's wrong with a little idle chat if the tone and subject of the chat shows that the chatterer is WFMU to the core?

	1:08pm Listener Robert: Occasionally I've been mean to DJs on the comments. More often I'm unintentionally offensive -- like the programming! -Ken got me to limit my comments to 3/program, and I think that helps restrain my untoward tendencies.

	♥ 12:37pm Doug Schulkind: Los Dandy's was formed in 1958 by Mexican singers José Luis Segura, Armando Navarro, Francisco Escanilla, and Joaquín Ruiz Martínez, performing romantic ballads based on Cuban bolero and traditional norteño style. When José Luis Segura passed away in 1963, he was replaced by his son José Luis Segura, Jr. In addition, Guicho Cisneros took Francisco Escanilla's place. (according to Pandora)

I coach children in football, and our fun is helping them have fun. People who come watch have fun seeing us all have fun. It's like when some WFMU DJs have live acts in, and can have fun helping them have fun and helping people have fun listening to them. Fun expands as it's passed around.

There is a long history of FMU air personalities objecting vehemently to that sort of thing, going all the way back to the old mid-aughts message board (where many of us first developed our on-line names and avatars). One in particular (no names, please) made a mission of decrying what was perceived as an arrogant attempt by listeners to take attention away from the programming. As I said in the midst of that original spat, what's wrong with a little idle chat if the tone and subject of the chat shows that the chatterer is WFMU to the core?

	1:08pm Listener Robert: Occasionally I've been mean to DJs on the comments. More often I'm unintentionally offensive -- like the programming! -Ken got me to limit my comments to 3/program, and I think that helps restrain my untoward tendencies.

I had friends turn me on to Vin Scelsa around 1996 so following that it was probably Laura Cantrell's show in the late 90s. Or ...
