Loving this Robbie Basho track. Reminds me that I put on Stefen Basho Jungens in Bristol once meny years ago. He stayed at my house then wouldn't leave so I had to spend all the next day showing him around Bristol. He was a nice guy but I only put him on as a favor to a friend so it was quite annoying. Ha hA.

Managing a live listen again, albeit arriving a little late. Got too much into my work - and I count myself very lucky to be able to say that! Beautiful sounds to accompany it anyway, as ever.
Gavin in Bristol, I'm sure there is more than one of that name in that fair city, but you didn't ever work in Richer Sounds did you?

Interesting World Series in that the road teams have won all the games so far. On a totally different subject, Robbie Basho is very hypnotic and beautiful.

Jeffrey I'm not sure if I've heard any Elkhorn on your show. Received Sun Cycle/Elk Jam this week after listening to a wonderful live set on nyctaper.com, you must know it already but if not then I think it would hit the spot for you

  Swag For Life Member 7:01am
jeremyo:

Gavin in Bristol - really not a surprise! Nor is the fact that Bristolians seem to be well represented amongst listeners to this show. Amused by you SBJ story, it has resonances with a tale of a hitch-hiker who I provided with a place to kip back when I was in Bristol myself. He made himself rather unpopular with my flatmates and I steered him towards the YHA the next day. Difference was he was a trumpeter who dressed in a yellow jumpsuit and red wellies. A memorable experience.

Good morning Jeffrey and fellow planeteers. Sem, back after harvest. How was your garden this year?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:08am
Gavin in Bristol:

@jeremyo - thats true! I heard Jeff mention a pledger from Knowle last week! I think its all the weird music that we are into and make that puts us in the top percentile. Great story of your trumpeter - does not surprise me a bit - the place is full of weirdo's. I've already got that NYC Taper set locked and loaded for afterward.

@Gavin_in_Bristol the trumpeter story, with other gory details not fit for here, became a song that's a bit of a millstone coz it's what I'm expected to deliver every time I go to a session. But I'm thankful that anyone wants to hear any of my drivel! As for Bristol, yeah, I was only there '89-'94, which was a golden time itself, but that city is always throwing up innovative musicians of all varieties.

@TDK60 damn, sorry to have missed that! I came to M-Shed this summer, first time in Bristol in many years, but too late for that exhibition. I could probably have provided some tasty stuff for it myself, but I doubt there was space for all the bands they could have included :) @Gavin, I was unaware of the Bamboo Club, to my shame. But it's that deeply diverse community in a city of just the right size that seems to me part of the alchemy of the place.
