	♥ 6:09am Jeffrey Davison: Picture on top of playlist is of my father's WW2 B-29 crew. 35 combat missions, 3 missions to check weather, one scrubbed mission (assume due to mechanical issues). My dad was a member of a worldwide anti-fascist organization, which brazenly operated out in the open, and the government of the USA actually encouraged their operations, even awarding all of these men the Distinguished Flying Cross. My father also received the Purple Heart. He's the one crouching, second from left. Would have been 100 next month. Happy Father's Day.

	♥ 6:19am Jeffrey Davison: He went on to a career in the NYPD. Top of his class 1949, as well as top marksman. A real gentleman, well-read, and loved by all. A mensch. He also joined the USAF Reserve. Became a First Lieutenant in WW2. In the Reserve was a major. He was also awarded, in the 1960s, the USAF Distinguished Service Medal, one of their highest honors. However, due to a major fire in the building holding the records, in St. Louis, in 1973, there is no way for us to trace why he won that medal.

	6:20am Earth Walker: Jeffery what a trip yesterday here in Nice walking way up to a park with a beautiful view of Nice and surrounding mountains we met a women 90 years old walking up ! She spoke of the war and it’s hardships I also had an older French friend 24 years ago who was in the war. Lots of stories I’m originally from Brooklyn

	6:30am Really Lisa: Great to know your father’s story, Jeffrey. Sources of great pride for sure. My father was an Army Captain, stationed in Seoul, but not in wartime. He was also fresh from medical school, a pediatrician. So helped take care of children at an orphanage there. This is my first Father’s Day without him. Memories, and photos, are tremendously comforting.

	6:42am Deborah: My father died a few weeks before I graduated from high school. He wanted to be a high school history teacher but economics intervened and he could not finish college. He taught me to be inquisitive, to love the study of history, and was exited that I was going to study journalism in college.

	♥ 7:04am dale: while we're on the subject of fathers, mine dropped out of school at 14 to work when his father died. he worked farm jobs and then was infantry in germany during the war. he did farmwork when he got back until someone got him into the uaw in the late 1950s. went through the shutdowns and union strikes of the 70s and finally was about to retire when he had his third heart attack on his very last day of work. was gone a couple of days later. on my birth certificate his occupation is listed as 'common laborer.' great gentleman in my mind.

I was upstate for a couple of days last weekend into early this week, and every store required masks to enter, though I wasn't sure if masks were required elsewhere. As the area I was in was rural, masks would not be needed in many instances.

	7:18am Really Lisa: I think the reopen phase in NJ is level 2, some stores reopening but offering curbside pickup to continue. Restaurants open for outdoor dining only. I find it too risky, despite knowing the stagnant (mentally, physically *and fiscally) alternative. I don’t mean to be all doom and gloom, but Covid19 exposure is what caused my father’s death. Honest, I don’t dwell on this day and night, but when it’s a topic on the comments boards I think it would be remiss not to share that this shit is real. The talk of second wave is odd.. when it seems the first wave hasn’t ended.

Jeffrey, and BnowB, right?! It seems to have been normalized, the desensitization of the real risk. Thanks mainly to the grifter in chief. BnowB I’m in an apt community in NJ burbs, the mostly young families are out and about all over the parking lots and roads thru the complex, without masks :-/ Burns me up! TDK60 thank you. Glad to see negative results! I had the antibody test weeks ago, to be sure I could donate blood. Negative, so I was permitted to donate.. during a crucial shortage of course.

Outside of the apartment, while walking around this slightly pretentious Township, some mask, some don't. I am concerned and so reluctant to take NJ Transit anywhere. Anybody public transporting yet?

I'm having a coffee break from cleaning duties and relecting on the thougts being shared with a mixture of feelings and wishing you all the best. Set myself the goal of finding at least two positive things each day, which are not WFMU related. Yesterday's were talking to my sister and her giving me assurance that our parents are doing the right thing during the re-opening of France. My tendancy is to be over cautious and worry that mother (86 years) is thinking she can get back to normal. Thanks, Sis. And although I couldn't sleep last night and started work at 5am, I felt okay and managed to finish and sling out three pieces of client work, I'd been procratinatiing about, so I'll at least get paid this month. Two positives for yesterday. What will be today's?

	♥ 7:49am TDK60: Once, eons ago, I hitchhiked from Tucson to San Francisco. A guy picked me up at night out in the desert west of Phoenix; later, we pulled over to sleep a bit. Woke up to a land like a flat brown-dirt table, the Mojave desert. Later, we came upon some large green mountains, the Tehachapi.

	♥ 8:21am Jeffrey Davison: Fredericks: a little bit. I also got an email from a listener who is a collector of 78s. He feels that most 78s were sped up, and sent me a sound clip of Mississippi John Hurt, slowed to 50%!! Sounded viable, but too slow to my ears.
	8:22am Terry LW: Just read the story of your Dad. My wife has posted how her dad was part of the same anit-fascist group as your father, as was mine who served in the Korean War. May all these good people rest and may we all find peace and sanity before we leave this world.

A few years ago, my brother located the radio operator on my dad's plane (Miss Behavin' II), who was still living in Aurora, Illinois. Was 89 at that time, sharp as a tack. Remembered everything. An amazing guy, who had made several trips back to Japan to be part of the reconciliation of former enemies, and was also a volunteer at a local airplane museum in Illinois. RIP, Paul Linden.

	♥ 8:42am Jeffrey Davison: Nulsh: Here's a fact I didn't know: the planes didn't sit idle when the crew came back. Another crew took the plane out. I guess I should have figured that out. Anyway, the Miss Behavin' I, brought back by my dad's crew (headed by Lt. Crowder), was lost on the subsequent flight. Mechanical failure of some sort, and the other crews on that mission watched the plane crash dive in the Pacific. All lost. Terry LW: Indeed.

	♥ 6:09am Jeffrey Davison: Picture on top of playlist is of my father's WW2 B-29 crew. 35 combat missions, 3 missions to check weather, one scrubbed mission (assume due to mechanical issues). My dad was a member of a worldwide anti-fascist organization, which brazenly operated out in the open, and the government of the USA actually encouraged their operations, even awarding all of these men the Distinguished Flying Cross. My father also received the Purple Heart. He's the one crouching, second from left. Would have been 100 next month. Happy Father's Day.

	♥ 6:19am Jeffrey Davison: He went on to a career in the NYPD. Top of his class 1949, as well as top marksman. A real gentleman, well-read, and loved by all. A mensch. He also joined the USAF Reserve. Became a First Lieutenant in WW2. In the Reserve was a major. He was also awarded, in the 1960s, the USAF Distinguished Service Medal, one of their highest honors. However, due to a major fire in the building holding the records, in St. Louis, in 1973, there is no way for us to trace why he won that medal.

She spoke of the war and it’s hardships I also had an older French friend 24 years ago who was in the war. Lots of stories I’m originally from Brooklyn

He was also fresh from medical school, a pediatrician. So helped take care of children at an orphanage there. This is my first Father’s Day without him. Memories, and photos, are tremendously comforting.

He taught me to be inquisitive, to love the study of history, and was exited that I was going to study journalism in college.

	♥ 7:04am dale: while we're on the subject of fathers, mine dropped out of school at 14 to work when his father died. he worked farm jobs and then was infantry in germany during the war. he did farmwork when he got back until someone got him into the uaw in the late 1950s. went through the shutdowns and union strikes of the 70s and finally was about to retire when he had his third heart attack on his very last day of work. was gone a couple of days later. on my birth certificate his occupation is listed as 'common laborer.' great gentleman in my mind.

I was upstate for a couple of days last weekend into early this week, and every store required masks to enter, though I wasn't sure if masks were required elsewhere. As the area I was in was rural, masks would not be needed in many instances.

I find it too risky, despite knowing the stagnant (mentally, physically *and fiscally) alternative. I don’t mean to be all doom and gloom, but Covid19 exposure is what caused my father’s death. Honest, I don’t dwell on this day and night, but when it’s a topic on the comments boards I think it would be remiss not to share that this shit is real. The talk of second wave is odd.. when it seems the first wave hasn’t ended.

Set myself the goal of finding at least two positive things each day, which are not WFMU related. Yesterday's were talking to my sister and her giving me assurance that our parents are doing the right thing during the re-opening of France. My tendancy is to be over cautious and worry that mother (86 years) is thinking she can get back to normal. Thanks, Sis. And although I couldn't sleep last night and started work at 5am, I felt okay and managed to finish and sling out three pieces of client work, I'd been procratinatiing about, so I'll at least get paid this month. Two positives for yesterday. What will be today's?

A few years ago, my brother located the radio operator on my dad's plane (Miss Behavin' II), who was still living in Aurora, Illinois. Was 89 at that time, sharp as a tack. Remembered everything. An amazing guy, who had made several trips back to Japan to be part of the reconciliation of former enemies, and was also a volunteer at a local airplane museum in Illinois. RIP, Paul Linden.

Anyway, the Miss Behavin' I, brought back by my dad's crew (headed by Lt. Crowder), was lost on the subsequent flight. Mechanical failure of some sort, and the other crews on that mission watched the plane crash dive in the Pacific. All lost. Terry LW: Indeed.
