With the Big Boss working on his Boss Book, it appears the inmates have taken over the asylum - and I like it!!

This is definitely one of my favorite Turtles songs. When I hear it, it’s stuck in my head for days.
Avatar 6:48pm
Orange Peel:

Hopefully it will dislodge at just the right time.

uptown jen:

It’s not a bad thing, Sir Peel. It shows up like an old friend, stays for a bit, and leaves again until the next visit.

How quaint

Orange Peel:

Glad you can listen, Sir Clark
Avatar 7:53pm

Orange, not sure Adrew colud do better looking at the list you played. I clicky starred 6 songs already!
Avatar 7:53pm
Orange Peel:

Fantastic, Sir Clark - the Big Boss will be so pleased!
Avatar 8:06pm
WLSClark:

EMS played "Rainflowers" on a Johnny Carson special that I have on video somewhere I think. They disappeared way too soon.
Avatar 8:07pm
Orange Peel:

Indeed - we need more EMS music - is it too late for a 3rd LP?
Avatar 8:14pm
WLSClark:

Brian Hyland is perfect with Layng Martine's song!
Avatar 8:14pm
Orange Peel:

Brian Hyland scores again
Avatar 8:15pm
WLSClark:

I sure wish he had someone get stereo tapes for some of his mono songs like this one and "3000 Miles" I believe also only mono?
Avatar 8:16pm
WLSClark:

Love Claudine L's version of this too
Avatar 8:17pm
Orange Peel:

Claudine's version sounds rather like "Think Of Wayne"
Avatar 8:21pm
WLSClark:

Haha

Peanut hits the high notes!
Avatar 8:22pm
Orange Peel:

Yes indeed, Sir Doug!
Avatar 8:23pm
WLSClark:

All this rain makes me think about listening to WLS from Kansas on summer nights and hating all the static in the 60's. ;)
We get up to a foot of snow tonight/tomorrow in Lincoln
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:27pm
Gaylord Fields:

@WLSClark: Is the version of "3000 Miles" on the Joker Went Wild stereo LP fake stereo? I love that song like the child I never had.
Avatar 8:29pm
Orange Peel:

I only have one speaker
Avatar 8:30pm
WLSClark:

Artie Wayne song, gaylord! That guy was classic fun. I am pretty sure it is rechanneled? It's all echoey too. Muddy production some, I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:31pm
Beantown Doug:

A Lovin' Couple... like Sonny and Cher?
Avatar 8:31pm
WLSClark:

Orange, one speaker works for AM radio. That was my life.
Avatar 8:32pm
WLSClark:

Beantown, I hear it but I hear the Cyrkle as well doing this
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33pm
Gaylord Fields:

@WLSClark: I just dug out my LP and yeah, it's in whatever is Philips/Mercury's version of rechanneled fake stereo. When I played "3000 Miles" on my show a few years ago, I yelled at the record-buying public of 1966 for not making it a hit.
Avatar 8:34pm
WLSClark:

Gaylord, INDEED!!! Throw in "Stay Away from Her" and "Stay & Love me all Summer."
Avatar 8:35pm
WLSClark:

gaylord, do you have the MONO cover that plays stereo? haha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:36pm
Gaylord Fields:

"Stay Away Fron Her" is the best song Del Shannon never recorded — which is funny since they later teamed up and made such great records together.
Avatar 8:36pm
WLSClark:

This opening reminds me of the great Jose Feliciano song "RAIN"!!!
Avatar 8:37pm
WLSClark:

"Stay away from Her" a tune my buddy James Holvay wrote with Brian while they were on Dick Clark Caravan of Stars in 64!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38pm
Gaylord Fields:

That's right — a Chicago connection with Holvay of Buckinghams songwriting fame, as well as The Mob!
Avatar 8:40pm
WLSClark:

How I wish the Mob had MADE IT.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
Gaylord Fields:

Hi, Orange Peel! Does the rainy season in California remind you of the weather in London?
Avatar 8:41pm
WLSClark:

Cool Mustang records classic
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42pm
Gaylord Fields:

@WLSClark: Teenage Barry White is all over those Mustang productions.
Avatar 8:42pm
Orange Peel:

Sir Gaylord - I do not miss the rain, but then again I am from the North of England.
Avatar 8:42pm
WLSClark:

These songs have my mind racing for tunes. "Think Snow" by Northern Light from Minnesota is a great tune.
Avatar 8:43pm
WLSClark:

Orange, are you a Montanas fan? They are TOTALLY great IMO.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm
Gaylord Fields:

@Orange Peel: So then it's the soot you miss, I suppose.
Avatar 8:43pm
WLSClark:

gaylord, I had no idea!
Avatar 8:43pm
Orange Peel:

Sir Clark, yes, I do quite like the Montanas.
Avatar 8:44pm
WLSClark:

Orange, I don't know WHY they never made it. It even perplexes Tony hatch when I ask him.
Avatar 8:46pm
Orange Peel:

Sir Gaylord, I have lived in California since the 1960's. I am quite comfortable in Fontana.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm
Gaylord Fields:

@WLSClark: Yeah, Bob Keene pretty much gave him the keys to the label and Barry learned a lot producing the likes of Felice Taylor and even Bobby Fuller (which is why "The Magic Touch" has that four-on-the-floor Motown feel to it).
Avatar 8:55pm
WLSClark:

Gaylord, thats cool. I love "Magic Touch."
Avatar 8:55pm
WLSClark:

Snow Queen was a good one by Byzantine Empire too, I believe.
Avatar 8:56pm
Orange Peel:

Thank you, my friends, for joining my Stormy Weather Spectacular.
Avatar 8:56pm
WLSClark:

Great show, off to BPN
Avatar 8:56pm
Orange Peel:

See you all next year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:57pm
Gaylord Fields:

Happy New Year to you, Orange Peel, as well as to the Big Boss! Here's to sunny days ahead!
Avatar 8:57pm
Woof:

Thank you, DJOP! Great show! See you next year!
Avatar 8:58pm
Orange Peel:

Thank you, Sir Gaylord and Lady Woof.
Avatar 8:59pm

Happy New Year all!
Avatar 8:59pm

Happy New Year and goodmorrow.
