Listener comments!
9:09am : nice start Bob....quick query...tried listening in UK a couple of hours ago....no connection online or through my internet radio....and yet, checking the archives there is no sign of any interruption...am I going mad or what????9:18am : Good morning, Bob. I planned to ride my bike first thing this morning but you've changed my mind. Am gonna stay right here and keep listening to your show. Very nice start.9:23am : Morning! Looking forward to this "strings" program.9:27am : morning mr. deejay. i just heard a recent cover of expecting to fly and was horrified. it had a techno-y thing going on and the lyrics were incomprehendable. a travesty.9:47am : Sometimes the time spent preparing for things creates anxiousness when the big moment arrives. This is wonderful--thanks for your effort! You've blown my mind by reaching into Todd's archives.9:48am : Rundgren and Cream
How can you not love this show.9:49am : WOW ! not heard this Cream gem in a while ! my fave part still when they finally did that REunion few years back was when Ginger was doing "Pressed Rat and Warthog" !!!9:50am : Always good Bob, check out 'Birthday Carole' on Runt, 'Rock On' -David Essex, and 'Ballad of Danny Bailey'- EJ for more string candy9:52am : i was a moody blues freak, and bought all the solo work. picked up greame edge band with adrian gurvitz. that lead to baker gurvitz army. that was really my only exposure to ginger baker and i didn't care for it. wasn't later til i heard some cream that i started to appreciate him9:53am : @ Tom
I got "Fresh Cream" for Christmas 1969. I was 15. Cream was a pure Blues band on that album.10:01am : As always another great show10:02am : LOVES me some pitney. from the big sixteen on. i even have gene-o italiano, where he sings his hits in italian. could never get the george jones duet album, but those wacky record execs....10:18am : Todd recently did a concert in Amsterdam with Het Metropool Orkest, organised by Dutch public radio (Radio 6: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YtfnRj-zA0E). Alas for me, it was sold out. Dutch radio will broadcast the whole concert . Meanwhile, clips of semi-private recordings are getting out on YouTube.

Strings:
Peter Hammill - Autumn
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJkaRnOMit410:18am : Play Yumeji's Theme from the movie "In the mood for love"10:20am : re: "Catherine's Wheel" -- I think that might be Viv Prince, formerly of the Pretty Things, on drums.10:22am : suggestion - Something by The United States Of America" or Hot Tuna. Both groups had violin players10:24am : Or how about the Chaconne in D minor. The greatest violin piece of all time.10:25am : for a different take on bach's cello concertos, you should check out the recordings on double bass by edgar meyer - beautiful album10:27am : omg this kinks song--so beautiful10:29am : You better be playin' some Charlie Daniels real dang soon.10:33am : another recommendation: Marianne Faithful - Who will take my dreams away?10:40am : ny rock and roll ensemble10:41am : early tull, strawbs, ANYTHING from amazing blodel's 'england'10:42am : urk, cello *suites* not concertos...need more coffee. anyway, this is the album: http://www.amazon.com/Bach-Unaccompanied-Suites-Performed-Double/dp/B00004WK4A10:42am : BLONDEL......human beinz other good song is 'flower grave'10:47am : mckendree spring10:48am : down by the river freakout!!!10:49am : david laflamme it's a beautiful day10:50am : White Bird..10:56am : I would bet that's the first time The Syncopated Clock has been played on the radio in its entirety in 50 years. Cool.10:56am : "There Goes My Baby" changed the face of modern R&B by adding strings, but it famously almost didn't come out. As the story goes, Jerry Wexler hated it and said that the arrangement sounded like two different radios playing in two different rooms, or something like that. Thankfully, cooler heads prevailed.10:57am : Bob,
I can't remember how many Leroy Anderson melodies I played, during my school band years! I'll never get them out of my head!10:58am : The Damned - Curtain Call
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZRgb5NU5Rc11:01am : very cool show bob promise to let loose with some clams by months end. thats when ol caps pension check arrives human beinz who knew6:26pm : Yes, a hard copy of the Vit Str Quartet's Pet Sounds does exist www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dpopular&field-keywords=vitamin+string+quartet+pet+sounds
