Listener comments!
9:03am : Good morning, Bob and fellow listeners. A most dreary day here in Atlanta.9:03am : Hiya, Bob. It's been a good long while since I last heard this one.9:03am : Quah! Great start to the day...9:06am : Hey G'morning all!9:09am : Bought this GG&F after hearing on your show a while back; been enjoying it.🥁 9:13am : Hello Bob & Co. Is that Officer Dyble from Top Cat or cousin Judy?9:16am : No Brian from UK - Judy Dyble original vocalist from Fairport Convention, Trader Horne and later solo albums.9:18am : Kudos Bob for makin' it in on such a snowy Jersey morning.9:19am : Well@BrianiUK: is it motorcycling weather today?9:21am : Mornin' all! :)9:25am : LOVE Donovan, Bob! He is certainly under rated.
Thanks for playing and hope to hear a little more, maybe, in the future.9:25am : Good morning.9:25am : Do we know who is Dippy? It's been almost 50 years. We should know by now. Maybe I missed it.9:27am : There's a typo. The title should have read; "Epistle: Too Dippy."9:28am : Is this the single after Mellow Yellow?9:29am : via wikithingy: "Written in the form of an open letter to an old school friend, the song had a strong pacifist message in addition to its florid psychedelic imagery. The real "Dippy" was, at the time, serving in the British Army in Malaysia. According to Brian Hogg, who wrote the liner notes for the Donovan boxed set, Troubadour, Dippy heard the song, contacted Donovan and left the army as a result."9:29am : Greets all!9:31am : Bob, what a trooper!🥁 9:40am : Sem just a tad too fresh for me right now.9:43am : Thanks for digging up a track from She Sings, They Play, Bob. Had not heard anything from this in a while.9:51am : Flashback! *l*9:51am : !9:53am : Deep sea marionette adventure time!9:54am : Dang, Bob, your raising the bar yet again!10:08am : cat mother!
produced by jimi, no?🥁 10:08am : Gene singing See the Sky About to Rain is wonderful on Byrds.10:12am : Intro to Omaha sounds mightily like the Mothers of Invention I think.10:16am : I'm a friend of Larry Packer,he plays fiddle now in a band called Hair of the Dog.Saw Moby Grape at Fillmore East and they were bad, made me sick. Good thing BB King played after them.10:17am : Chin slob--i.e., her.10:24am : Voice like dripping honey...10:24am : Voice like throat gravel...10:36am : Bob,
Do you like monster movies, or just the music? Can you play some Splinter? Thank you.
PR10:43am : Another great road trip all over the musical map, Bob.
I do love that first Moby Grape album, but I've always found Omaha too simplistic a tune.
the pre-tune noise fest they kicked up(studio effects, right?) is the best part of the song- along with Don Stephenson's drum breaks.10:45am : I like monster movies fine Peter, but I like the music to some of 'em even more!10:46am : Suddenly feel a need to go to church.
Perhaps it will pass after your show:>)10:49am : Great show as usual, Bob.10:50am : Thanks for filling up the office with great sounds this morning, Bob. You did it again.10:52am : Roy O. tune?10:56am : Ah, wrong title.4:02pm : Interesting that you posted Shotgun Slade as I just got the entire soundtrack lp last week. I also downloaded some of the tv episodes. Remember the show well as a kid.
