Morning Bob! Forgot how good the music for Kung Fu could be... this is sweet

Yeah. Two Sweet Rides!!

Bob, you mentioned seeing the Grape at the Fillmore on June 1, '68. Apparently it was Skip's last gig with the band. Historic!
  9:31am Sharon Griffiths:

That "Snowman/Sweet Potato" song, besides being weird, was a TOTAL rip-off of "Sally Go Round the Roses" (one of my favorites). Was it by the same group?

I also loved Kung Fu, and am currently watching many episodes on MySpace, of all places.
Avatar 🥁 9:34am duke:

That car crash song would go well on Rex's show. He loves songs with crying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am melinda:

Haha...I loved Sunshine when I was a kid.
  9:45am Stuart Rose:

Gary burton and Moby Grape.
Those Fillmore pairings were amazing.
  9:46am mrmucho:

Parsons also did Haggard's "life in prison" on "sweetheart", but everyone here already knows that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am melinda:

I love their version of Sing Me Back Home.
  9:53am Moe:

Merle has a great back story, jumping freight trains, doing time in San Quentin... And writing some classic American tunes that were covered by many... He did good...
  9:56am Deb:

Thank you for Mott The Hoople!!!! Reminds me of high school dayz here.
  9:57am Deb:

Good Saturday Morning, BOB! Great selection of music.

Saw John prine and iris dement last night great show... However iris said Merle haggard stole mama tried from her brother... Don't know just passing on what she said...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:30am dale:

the four tops have covered the moodys a couple of times.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:35am dale:

the standells were on the munsters last night. i don't know why but they sang a beatles song instead of one of their own
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 10:47am Brian in UK:

@Moe I am so jealous. Not sure if Iris has ever played over here. Merle's version of her song No Time To Cry is almost as good as hers. Can I say that.
  10:58am Stuart Rose:

Beautiful Schumann piece. He had this austere style, full of long held notes, that's very moving.

It takes a bob brained to follow Schumann with Andrew hill. Shapely music, classical and jazz.
Avatar 11:00am Marc Francis:

Thanks Bob!
