Listener comments!
9:02am : good morning, only listening for a short time this morning, it's the beginning of my birthday week celebration..9:03am : hi Bob and everyone! Happy birthday week , annie!9:04am : thanks melinda!!🥁 9:12am : Morning Bob and all. Didn't the Jam cover Big Bird?9:14am : Yeah. The Jam's version was the first I ever heard that song.9:18am : Oh my god, this is from a cd box set called Crime Jazz. That is so great.9:18am : And happy birthday week Annie!9:18am : Happy Birthday, Annie. A whole week of celebration. Nice.9:19am : Morning Bob... Got my swag this past week...diving into your CD mix.
Cheers.🥁 9:23am : What? Geri Allen? Damn.9:28am : ok, breakfast number one!! see y'all!!9:29am : I got my swag & Bob's CD this week, too!9:29am : The Sneetches were the bestest.9:30am : ...clicky☆bellied...10:09am : Nice cover. I love Amie.10:15am : Your friend Joe Vocino was a fine singer.
Spirited version of Amie.10:19am : NRBQ always!10:20am : Good mix of stuff this morning, bob10:23am : Best song today.10:24am : Who is this White man? He almost sounds like a character actor trying his hand at singing.10:26am : @Stuart - I thought he sounded like the guy who sang "Oh, I'm just a bill ... ."10:31am : Ken, you're thinking of Jack Sheldon?10:37am : Oh, yes, that was Jack Sheldon. Thanks.10:40am : so happy to hear the DeJohnette, Coltrane and Garrsion.
It is so awesome to write those 3 names...kind of shivers about the 2- children of-working with De Johnette.10:53am : The Wolf!10:54am : The Mighty WolfMoo.10:54am : howlin' wolf is god.10:55am : Led Zep might have sent a buck or two Wolf's way for this tune. How Many More times is also a solid track.10:59am : Greatest moment in my life was meeting Howlin' Wolf at Max's Kansas City in May 1973. I was 18, and he was my hero.11:31am : always good to hear Kirwan - I guess they cut Earl Grey when Peter was still in the band post Then Play On9:24pm : War's 'Summer' was recorded and released in 1976. Sounds like from earlier though. I always thought of 1975 as the cut off point where most of the Pop charts sucked. Van Duran reminds a bit of "Natural Progressions" album that Bernie Leadon did with Michael Georgiades.
Always up for listening to Argent's first album.9:37pm : War's 'Summer' was recorded and released in 1976. Sounds like from earlier though. I always thought of 1975 as the cut off point where most of the Pop charts sucked.
