Ana Alcaide was drawn to Sephardic Jewish music by the history of her hometown, Toledo in Spain. A violinist by training, she fell for nyckelharpa - the traditional Swedish keyed fiddle - while living in Sweden. She's combined the two - and lots more - to make her distinctive blend of multi-cultural music.

Ana Alcaide and her ensemble join us for an interview plus a little impromptu performance, recorded at October's WOMEX World Music Expo in the Canary Islands.
