Hi, Rex and all the Fools in Paradise! If it ain't Saturday, then I'm a dog!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:01pm mariano:

Hey Rex, fools!
  1:01pm egould310:

Greetings from Seattle! And a heartfelt “Momma!” to Rex, and the rest of you fools. Paradise, now!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:02pm Phillippe Bastille:

Good afternoon! Looking forward to some weeding and leaf raking tuneage!

Hey Handy and mariano
  1:02pm David in London:

I’m a fool, so OK for me to join in. Hello pals!
Avatar 1:02pm Rex:

Hello all! Please join me for this 2 hour excursion to nowhere!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm mariano:

Hi Phillippe, David, egould! And thanks to... is it Ruth operating the board today?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:04pm dave wuz here:

  1:05pm David in London:

Handy, Mariano, Phillippe, hey hey guys. Amusingly my auto text predict now suggests all your names.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:06pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, pals -- funny that we'd all end up fools together ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:08pm mariano:

Well, I'm honored, Dave ;) I think I mentioned a while back an old phone of mine that would autocorrect Jason to Jarmo for some reason. I've looked all over the web and all I could find with that name was an archaeological site in Iraq.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Phillippe Bastille:

@DiL that's pretty funny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:09pm Handy Haversack:

I am telling myself it's still too cold for yard work here ... but I think mainly because I *really* want to just keep reading on the couch all day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:10pm Marley P. Dogg:

Afternoon Rex! Hope you are well!
Avatar 1:11pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Hi ho, Fool-ereenos!

Fantastic to hear you live!!

Recipe for Cowboy Cookies anyone?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm Doug in JC:

You got a nice yard there in greenpernt?
Avatar 🌮 1:12pm Mailman Tom:

I went on a hike in Staten Island some years ago. It was fun!
  1:12pm David in London:

Ah, Echo Wolf for me means that Saturday night has begun and the booze can be opened.

Handy - it’s brass monkeys outside, so for sure you should stay inside and read.
Avatar 1:12pm Melissa Jean:

  1:12pm (another) Patrick in Hoboken:

Well if not live, direct from the Fool’s Paradise home location.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Doug in JC:

I'm going to work on my bee hotel but I need some raw materials from the swamp down the block
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm efd:

Sounding great, Rex! Congrats on getting up and running with the home setup!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:15pm Handy Haversack:

@Doug: "Nice" overshoots the mark! But we have a space, and we are the only ones in the building with access, and I do my best to make something happen in it -- hop vine, some bulb flowers, a couple of bushes. An eternal quest for actual grass coverage.

But given this arctic blast ... !

Rex, mic break sounded great!
  1:15pm The Butterman:

Yeah Rex. Well said and tank you.
Avatar 1:15pm Rex:

Sorry to report this Juke Joint Jonny, but the Cowboy Cookie recipe is directly from Laura Bush!
Avatar 1:16pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Yeah, the Google just broke the news re: Laura Bush. Blecch.
  1:16pm lee in dublin:

hello fellow no brows, great to hear a live show again, happy easter everyone, stay stupid (at a safe distance)
  1:16pm David in London:

Doug, good work on the new hotel. I have a very fond memory of making an ant hotel with my son when he was little.
Avatar 1:17pm Juke Joint Jonny:

I beg to differ. I think this tune is definitely It
Avatar 🌮 Swag For Life Member 1:19pm JG:

Rex, I didn't know you were a Satan Islander
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:19pm Doug in JC:

@Handy we have a little slab of concrete out back but it gets some sun. A couple of raised planters and rain barrels. It's better than nothing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Doug in JC:

@David Ant hotel! I haven't thought of that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm Handy Haversack:

@Doug: Bird feeders/baths? We MAINLY get sparrows by the gross, but there are some more exotic visitors.
  1:21pm Bill W:

Thank you for helping us meet our quota of stupid, Rex.

Greetings to Green-Eyed Lurleen!
Avatar 1:21pm Rex:

JG- I was recently chased out of Brooklyn and landed here in St George with the wife, the dog and all the 45s!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Doug in JC:

@Handy a little suet cage, some trumpet vines in the hopes that a hummingbird will come by one day. There's a church next door where we've gotten almost every local raptor you can think of
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm Handy Haversack:

They DO love that old-time religion!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm mariano:

Hey lee in dublin, happy Easter to you too.

Rockin' and washing.. but my name's not Sue. Hello No Brows!
  1:25pm egould310:

@Handy put out some bird feeders. You’ll definitely start getting all sorts of birds, including exotics. Plus you’ll start to get birds all the way up the food chain. Hawks are awesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Handy Haversack:

Hey, @radioronan! How's everything way down south @Huron St.?

@egould -- yup! We have a couple, and a bath. Just need to get them ready for spring ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:26pm Marley P. Dogg:

I bought an old song radio that just arrived but here is some stupid religious station interfering worn 91.1 - argh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm mariano:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:27pm TomDash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:39pm mariano:

Sorry, *Handy.

Night of the Hunter was the only movie directed by the great actor Charles Laughton !
Avatar 1:40pm Rex:

Howdy, Greg! Just keepin' it stupid here on a Saturday afternoon...
  1:42pm David in London:

Yes Mariano, good idea. Handy, just confidently “Porky Freeman forbids it!”
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm SeanG:

K-DOE!
  1:42pm Cool Hands Luke:

BEST SONG EVER
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm mariano:

Hah! This is making me think of Cheech & Chong's version of "I've Been Framed".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm Handy Haversack:

Oh, I had my revenge -- pulled my boxers ALLLLLLLLL the way up and tucked my T-shirt into them when we reached the squats portion of the torture. Good luck doing curls while laughing too hard to see, Kate!
  1:43pm David in London:

There’s a good Laughton / Mitchum story that involves the latter putting his todger in a hot dog bun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:43pm radioronan:

Geez @Handy - now I feel gulity for not being able to help a neighbor in need.
Avatar 1:43pm Rex:

Luke- That Clarence Samuels 45 is outta Brooklyn!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:45pm mariano:

Since it's Robert Mitchum, I believe it, David.
Avatar 1:45pm kyle a.:

Is it time to dust off the Robert Mitchum calypso album?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm mariano:

Apparently Count Demon and band also went by Count Demon And His Four Members. Kind of a disturbing name!
Avatar 1:47pm Rex:

Let us not forget Bob Mitchum warbling through a fine version of "Little Old Wine Drinker Me"...
  1:47pm Cool Hands Luke:

REX - 368 Putnam Ave!!!
  1:47pm David in London:

Kyle a, yes for sure!

Mariano - yikes, that’s a frightening moniker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm Handy Haversack:

Gonna put in 45 mins. in the yard!
  1:48pm egould310:

I want bbq, now.
  1:49pm Cool Hands Luke:

Around the corner from Peaches HotHouse
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm mariano:

I learned only in the last few years that in the 50s or early 60s, my grandfather and a couple of friends briefly owned a night club in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, and on opening night they dressed in grass-skirt drag and lip-synced to a track from Mitchum's calypso album. There's a brief glimpse of it on some of the family Super-8 archive, but alas no sound.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm SeanG:

rib tips!
  1:52pm Cool Hands Luke:

Serious (kinda) question - Does the 45 of Slippity exist? I've been searching for years and I've only ever seen pictures of it...???
  1:53pm David in London:

Mariano, I think you need to honour your forebears and record some sound for it yourself..!
Avatar 1:55pm Rex:

The Slippity 45 does indeed exist! I've got it in my mitts right now! But now back to the fresh, hot cookies!
  1:56pm Jett:

Can that Count Demon track be found on a re-issue cd compilation anywhere?
  1:57pm Cool Hands Luke:

Tasty biscuits in the oven AND on the record machines!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Pedro in Arlington:

Need to get the Army Air Corps to drop some reverb on Staten Island.
  1:59pm egould310:

Bold. Brassy. Unmistakably sexy promo. “Oh, yeah!” gets me every time.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Greg from ZONE 5:

Oh, this is a joint…
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm mariano:

David: That's been a long-term plan of mine for a while. There's 10 hours of footage, covering 1958-1980, with some great footage of Honduras and New Orleans (plus a bit of NYC, DC, and some other parts of the US). It's just screaming for a period-appropriate soundtrack. I personally love the 70s footage most of all, when everyone was dressed like extras in Boogie Nights ;)
Avatar 2:02pm Rex:

Pedro- No reverb as of now...waiting for a major grant from the NEA...
  2:03pm P-90:

Big thumbs up for the Hi Fidelities!
  2:04pm David in London:

Mariano, wow, that’s quite a treasure trove. It’s the kind of project that might take some effort, but once completed you’d never ever be sorry that you’d invested in it. Agreed on the 70s clobber, it was just a glorious time for people looking cool and utterly ridiculous simultaneously.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:05pm Kotzwinkled:

Rex do you know Bobby Lounge? Closes out Jazz Fest every second Sunday in NOLA. Gets wheeled on stage in an iron lung, accompanied by aloof nurses. You...would dig.
Avatar 2:05pm Rex:

Jett- I don't think anyone has the nerve to reissue Count Demon...
  2:06pm Hackensack Slim:

I can smell 'em sizzlin' in the pan.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm jmd:

Whoa! It's no Chicken Pot Pie, but it's dang close. Nice one!
  2:07pm Papito:

My skull is hollow so I hear Rex in echo in there !
  2:08pm egould310:

  2:27pm David in London:

Hey Vince. How are you sir?
Avatar 2:28pm Rex:

Mariano - It is Mike Evans. Damn auto-correct!
Avatar 2:29pm Juke Joint Jonny:

Currently reading the first Tarzan Of The Apes novel by Edgar Rice Borroughs, and boy howdy, that is some crazy action packed racist nonsense!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:29pm mariano:

I think auto-correct does that kind of stuff on purpose, Rex.
