Yes, that utterly relaxing opening track also brought to mind deep breathing exercises, as the perfect kind of stuff to accompany it. Think I recently found the way to getting the longest breath holds. Which is to concentrate as much on making the exhales as long as you can. Lately on the fourth round of 25 deep breaths it’s been around, at or over two minutes without breathing in.
First day of school for kids here. Back into that routine. As any parent knows it’s bittersweet on many levels. But I’m relieved and happy to have this time to myself again. Got some vegan recipe books from the library I wanna peruse during the show; we’ve not been eating so great lately, opting for convenience and rich meals, instead of getting on the right path of eating a lot more vegetables and a lot less meat, salt and fat.
Thanks Trouble as always. Your show is just the right tonic, and the community here are just the right folks to commune with.

On our way out we actually came upon quite an enchanting park called (lemme look it up…) Ringwood State Park. Have you been? Lovely meadows, creeks, forests; that area where the two creeks converge, creating a little isles between with picnic tables and bbq’s, is a magical little spot.

We’ve been lulled into a death trap, literally, by not creating enough trouble about the status quo.
We’re conditioned into prizing obedience, good manners, “not ruffling any feathers,” and “going along to get along.”
Well, you know what that’s gotten us?
Slavery, the Holocaust, the police state, climate change, no universal healthcare, price gouging, etc etc etc.
So, yeah, on the contrary, the only times we’ve reversed any of that is *by causing Trouble*.

Only way things will ever change is by changing the laws of what they can and can’t do, and subjecting them to outside oversight with prosecutorial power. Some of these bastards *must* go to jail (and not with a cushion, or a short pampered sentence before being released - what ever happened to that cold-blooded murderer Chicago PD scumbag who shot Loquan McDonald in the back multiple times as he walked away, and then lied about it, which was then covered upby Neoliberal clown/Governor Rahm Emanuel, until a dogged local investigative journalist asked for the tape?)
That incident reminds me immediately that one step in the fright direction would be to take away the squad cars and have them walk the beat instead. All these goddamn cop cars are totally unnecessary. The city is not that big, in square mileage.
So predictable to hear that halfwit cop say to the activist teacher confronting their abusive actions, to “get a real job.” That’s my line to them. Try it out some time, folks! They won’t be predicting that. But hopefully having it turned back on them at least might get them to stop for a moment to realize that not everyone considers what they do to be so gravely important as they believe. And still further that their chronic abuses and bad interactions with citizens have justifiably led us to want to defund them with an eye toward abolition.
