For the DC/VA crowd, I found good Mexican, in of all places, Strasbourg (Rt 55). Christina's Mexican Restaurant. Mostly the specials. And beautiful patio seating area - tons of plants/flowers.

This is the first time I've heard "Portrait of My Stepfather," and I'm holding back tears because of the memories that it brings back of my OWN childhood. This is seriously one of the greatest soul songs I've ever heard, and I'm going to track this album down IMMEDIATELY.

JLB, that Kelli Shay Hicks song was not actually part of this morning's show. I was asked to go on a bit early to fill in for the previous shift. The last track I played before starting this show was Kelli Shay Hicks's "Cash and Carry" from her new record "Buck Again." Eric, "I Be Cold" was by Yusef Lateef off his amazing live Atlantic record "10 Years Hence." (I didn't add that track to my playlist because it didn't fall officially on my show. I was asked to jump in a bit early to help fill in for the previous slot.) Sorry for the confusion.
