  9:13am -max-:

Good morning everyone! My assistant is out today, so let the weirdness ring out! Wheee!! I passed 50 years a little while back. Not so bad, and the ride is all downhill from here, so I say "sit back and enjoy it!"

  9:37am MD:

Krevorkian had the knack!!!
  9:38am PMD:

happy early birthday... hopefully that whistle is not all that's left of your train.
  9:39am trs:

haapy early Geburtstag, Ken.
  9:41am nasok:

richman's show on v-day was superb, BTW. he played a 10 min version of lesbian bar, with lots of said dancing.
  9:42am BillyJam:

Morning Cecile, dei xhrist,, Fishmonkeystew, Ne-guh-tor , Lizardner Dave, Bad Ronald and all the other regular WFMU listerners. Thanks for playing J. Richman Ken! Looking forward to today's show and 7SD later this eve.

  9:51am Cecile:

  9:55am Ne-guh-tor:

BillyJam! One and only.
  9:55am JCityJensen:

Morning Ken and All!
  10:04am PMD:

Ken, can you start web-camming the ones at UCB theater?
  10:05am anne:

happy birthday Ken, may your woodsy walks be abundant with salamanders!
  10:05am dei xhrist:

ooh, a show I can play along with at home - the female schlepping an accordion part.
  10:06am herb.jue:

darn - can't see '7second delay' tonight (wait, i've never seen it!). because THE michael musto is doing a reading at a b&n. sorry.
  10:06am Ne-guh-tor:

DING!
  10:06am jeanne:

whatya takin Ken?
Salvia?
  10:08am BSI:

...the old Fear & Loathing cocktail? ... a little ether-binge, perhaps?
  10:14am Ken:

God, I wish I knew what I was taking, but it's legal so yeah, maybe Salvia. Andy Breckman says he will take some too. Hahhh!!!
  10:14am Ken:

Jesus Herb. You're skipping SSD for MICHAEL MUSTO?! I will NEVER let you live that down.
  10:15am Chris:

musto over 7sd? big mistake. i hear he hits watermelons with a sledge hammer and sprays his audience.
  10:15am Ken:

Sorry PMD - we cant web cam those shows due to bad internet down in their basement.
  10:20am BSI:

This time, Ken, give a little love to the salamanders. I've got some prize samples from "that other" 7SD in a piece to be released soon. Just trying to repair the damage in the amphibious karma-sphere.
  10:25am mick:

i was very imressed by your drunk show, i have to say.
but taking salvia live just cos it`s legal seems absolutely insane.
if it`s salvia or actually, anything else, i wish you luck.
  10:27am Ken:

Tell me about Salvia, Mick. I know nothing about it.
  10:30am Chris:

is salvia that leafy stuff you chew on? - if so, i have a friend from yemen who does that stuff...he never explains very well what it does and never gives me any.
  10:31am jan:

I just got here...I had a meeting... what did I miss?
  10:31am Mark:

Salvia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvia_divinorum
  10:32am jeanne:

http://www.erowid.org/
  10:33am mick:

i`ve not taken it myself but from about 4 people i know who have, all having had experience with acid and other hallucinogens all said it was the most intense, out there hallucinogenic experiece they have ever had. unlike on most other drugs of that calibre, where you can talk yourself into "hey man, i`m only tripping, it`s gonna be ok soon", this was not possible at all.
the good news is, it only lasts for about 10 mins. which apparently can feel like a lifetime.
  10:33am jeanne:

salvia is bullshit.
tried it and it just makes you SUPER F-ing aware of the Matrix.
  10:34am Joe Steele:

Joe wants to volunteer. I'm Joe.
  10:35am BSI:

1200 Micrograms did a memorable ode to it years ago, for fans of psytrance:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7il24-hK-Fw
  10:35am dei x:

every station should have the Arnold Total Body Workout. If you don't have a stalling tape or the obligation music is crap, it's an audio life saver.
  10:37am John from Oslo:

So many hallucinogenes, so few Hawkwind records...
  10:39am nasok:

knowing baron i don't think it's salvia. i would guess it would be some sort of booze with shamanistic properties, filled with beetles, frogs, or the like.
  10:43am Sandy in Houston:

Happy Birthday.
Salvia's rad, but I hope it is something with beetles or frogs.
I celebrated my 25th birthday 1 week ago.
  10:44am moldymind:

the yoko show was great, her young band is excellent.... great music, sean mc'd and the parade of friends... bette was brilliant... whata woman... clapton ripped some leads with voorman and keltner... and of course they ended with give peace a chance...
  10:46am MD:

Happy pre- birthday...!!!
  10:47am moldymind:

my psychedelic advice... just do mushrooms....
  10:48am John from Oslo:

Tuned in a bit late. What up with all this hallucinogen talk? Is Ken going to drop acid during the fundraiser again, but finally be open about it?
  10:49am Ken:

I am scheduled to drink some sort of hallucinogenic cocktail tonight during Seven Sec Delay at the UCB Theater
  10:49am jeanne:

yes, agree, if you must partake of the 'shroom. so much more fun
  10:50am BSI:

Yage before beauty...
  10:51am Chris:

Try pounding a glass full of crushed cloves mixed in water.
  10:57am John from Oslo:

Ach so - a cocktail... tricky... Try going for n2o (dinox / laughing gas) instead - gives you a fine deep voice aswell. Or freebase DMT - that's over in a jiffy. Schrooms - oh, well - you'll never get the dose right...
  10:57am annie:

nutmeg!
  10:58am jeanne:

cornweenie !
  11:00am BSI:

John: and aaah, that's the great thing about our 'shroom friends. They keep secrets until the last minute. And bless 'em for that.
  11:02am John from Oslo:

BSI: Wasn't it Terrence McKenna who once said; If you think you had too much acid, you had too little...
  11:02am anne:

hmmmm, milkshake-like... ayahuasca? that Indian hashish drink? or better yet a dairy queen butterfinger blizzard!
  11:04am PMD:

annie, you are funny... blizzards do certainly get you high. actually, ken, you should make andy eat one of those...
  11:05am annie:

and the ice-cream headache to follow, the timing has to be perfect
  11:06am anne:

i have never, ever, been able to finish one of those DQ blizzards.
  11:06am BSI:

John from O: I hadn't heard that but it sounds about right. Practically anything Terrence said is forever quotable.
  11:09am Chris:

Just make sure andy doesn't bring any weapons tonight - especially his beloved chinese throwing stars. wouldn't want anyone to get hurt
  11:09am jeanne:

"the best story wins" thus spoke Terrence
I bet it's a 'shroom shake
  11:10am anne:

you might want to bring a puke bucket, Ken. just in case.
  11:17am John from Oslo:

Do fries go with that shake?
  11:19am Detroit Mac:

I say we have a vote to ask that Ken's Marathon Give-away be a CD collection of all of his visual comments from the past year's playlist. Any seconds here?
  11:19am mick:

so ken, are you actually looking forward to tonight then?
  11:20am Michelle in Green Bay:

I'll second that!
  11:21am trs:

bOO! - the faint flakes of snow that has fallen here has been nothing but a big tease
Snow porn : http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2010/02/lots-of-snow.html
  11:21am John from Oslo:

I third that - so few trees to hug in New Jersey bars...
  11:22am dei x:

It should be possible to make a tshirt with a moving gif
  11:22am pidgin:

what is real time?
11:23am Freddy from: West Orange Plumbing Supply:

Just wanted to say hey to Ken and everyone today
  11:23am Bad Ronald:

Is the still on the Curtis Mayfield slot from the Jay Reatard vid "Ain't Gonna Save Me"?
  11:26am Mark:

I think the program's stuck
  11:27am BSI:

HA! I was right!
  11:27am jeanne:

whoa, ken, you better wear a diaper!
  11:27am Vicki:

worming tablets
  11:27am SmokinJ:

DMT Rocks!
  11:28am PMD:

wear some Depends too!
  11:28am maria d:

i'm tripping just hearing about it
  11:28am anne:

bring more than one puke bucket, one for you, two for andy
  11:28am Detroit Mac:

Oh Boy... Ken is going to get DeWormed!
  11:29am fishmonkeystew:

Oh man, you're gonna be blazed.
  11:29am John from Oslo:

Hope you're not busy for a month
  11:29am Chris:

Is this the drug? - if so, good luck http://www.tvlesson.com/video/15937_national-geographic-most-powerful-hallucinogenic-cocktail.html
  11:29am Sandy in Houston:

no beetles, no frogs. antiworm!
  11:29am Parq:

So I go to get a cup of tea, and I walk back into the office just in time to hear "THE INTENSE VOMITING ..." Man, you just can't blink when Ken is on.
  11:29am trs:

call poison control for a pick up
  11:29am Ne-guh-tor:

I WANT SOME!!!!!
  11:30am BSI:

Will Ken Russell be there to film it once you & Andy start dancing naked around an improvised indoor campfire?
  11:30am Bronwyn C.:

Ken, you'd better bring adult diapers along with the puke bucket tonight.
  11:30am anne:

ayahuasca requires a special diet pre and post consumption, has there been any advisement on that?
  11:31am BillyJam:

hey Ken sounds like you may want to move the broadcast into the UCB men's room - or have a cordless mic handy if you need to run in there. And after have Nick the Bard drive you home.
  11:31am Ken:

Anne, please advise!!
  11:32am Bad Ronald:

Yes, I can shave the baby.
  11:32am listener mark:

Tack så mycket.
  11:32am Ne-guh-tor:

Forget that stuff, Ken, crap yourself! My pledge goes up this year!
  11:33am jeanne:

SAY IT SAY IT
  11:34am Hugo:

http://www.biopark.org/peru/Ayaharmaline.html
  11:34am Chris:

IF Ken craps his pants on air I will donate $100 to the station.
  11:35am John from Oslo:

Ken, it is harmless! The acute paranoia and schizophrenia will eventually wear off ; )
  11:36am listener mark:

Jag förstår inte så mycket svenska ännu.
  11:37am anne:

if it is TRULY the ayahuasca brew, it tastes like bile, you drink one cup of brew and one cup of lemon-like thing. prior to imbibing and after, you're supposed to avoid all meats, oils, fats, and other things. double check erowid website for eating advice, it's been a long time. it's strict, because it is an MAO inhibitor. the food restrictions take place a day or two prior and a day after. if you haven't gotten any advisement on the food restriction, it may be something else, or just DMT. double check all this, i'm not a doctor, i only play one on the wfmu comment board.
  11:38am Sometimes Jasmine:

It's the aftertaste you've really got to worry about. Seriously. Bring raisons with you to take away the bitterness.
  11:38am Lizardner Dave:

I think a pants-crapping warrants at least a Mouse pledge if not more. Perhaps there should be a "Poo-level pledge" somewhere between Mouse and Y3K.
  11:40am Chris:

If it's an accidental crapping 100 bucks...if it's a purposeful crapping 300 bucks.
  11:42am Mark:

what about diarrhea, how much is that worth?
  11:43am PMD:

thank goodness andy doesn't read these comments. of course he WILL find a way to get out of it. even to the point of drinking it and letting it drool out of his mouth.
  11:44am Wendy del Formaggio:

This LSD song by Wendell is one of the first songs I remember hearing on WFMU back in the mid-80s. Memmmmorieeees...
  11:44am Wendy del Formaggio:

This LSD song by Wendell is one of the first songs I remember hearing on WFMU back in the mid-80s. Memmmmorieeees...
  11:45am John from Oslo:

It is going to be a great 7SD, even if it is a placebo drug, so long as Ken and Andy THINKS it is the real thing, and believe everything that is written here ; )
  11:45am Chris:

deliberate or accidental diarrhea? and is puke included?
  11:45am Ne-guh-tor:

Don't worry, Ken, you don't have to crap your chinos to get a mouse pledge from me this year. I'm gonna squeeze one out! My wife will be murdering me.
  11:46am Experienced Listener:

Having tried ayahuasca, I would have to say that it's not a good idea to combine it with a live broadcast. You're likely to be more lucid than when you were drunk, but you'll likely be occupied with the puking and (possible) crap.
  11:46am anne:

hope this isn't scaring you, Ken! towards the bottom of page is some info on food and ayahuasca:
http://www.ayahuasca-shamanism.co.uk/onanyanshobo-ayahuasca-info.htm
  11:47am Ken:

Lucky for me, I never puke.
  11:47am paul:

jimmy!
  11:48am PMD:

Ken, you need to google ayahuasca and put one of the images up...
  11:48am anne:

after you drink this stuff, you'll want to puke!
  11:50am Experienced Listener:

I think it would be better if you drink it an hour before the broadcast. This way, you'll probably be past the purgative effects and still be able to drscribe the mental and sensory effects to the audience.
  11:53am reta:

jesus, the internet takes away all the mysterious fun of drug taking. glad i quit in the 80's.
  11:54am BSI:

Caresse P-Orridge ruined this song for all others, even Mr. Hendrix. Her delivery was perfect.
