  9:18am Windy City:

Hang in there Ken, what can we do for you?
  9:20am Ken:

Need suggestions for songs that are 5 minutes or longer.

  9:21am Bad Ronald:

Hey Ken if the Buzzcocks don't make you feel any better I don't know what will...
  9:22am Andy in Berlin:

Just put on Einstein On The Beach and go home to bed
  9:22am fishmonkeystew:

Good morning, Ken. Hope you feel better soon. That Burroughs/Gus van Sant mash was brilliant. Thanks.
  9:23am ∂avid:

Go with Tom Scharpling's fallback plan. "Pangaea"
  9:23am Bad Ronald:

How 'bout "A Quick One" by the Ooo?
  9:24am paul:

MOST UNWANTED SONG!
  9:24am dc pat:

  9:29am Pat in Philadelphia:

I'll be seeing Gunslingers friday, DC Pat. Very excited!
  9:29am Parq:

The round is a brilliant touch.
  9:29am still b/p:

Offer that fresh turntable soup in vials as special swag holy water!
  9:30am PMD:

I'm just tuning in to row row row. What's happening??
  9:30am BSI:

WFMU: metabolizing on-air sickness into audio dada since 1348...
  9:30am ∂avid:

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY I DONATE!!!!! keep doing the row row row your boat....
  9:31am annie:

i love the sharling show in which he did his very best to convince us he had NOTHING AT ALL ON TAPE.. it was all live, you had to be there.. it was sooo fun!
  9:31am Dan B From Upstate:

Um... Cerberus Shoal's "Ding"?
9:31am JCityAaron aka Dead Air Detection Specialist:

ken is one of the few people that could spontaneously bust out a tune (such as row your boat) on a 15 sec delay - shear awesomeness
  9:32am annie:

will you have to launch the "sea donkey" up there?
  9:32am coelacanth:

poor Ken. . (flame thrower?)
  9:33am Hugh:

Propel, propel your craft down the liquid solution; Ecstatically, ecstatically, ecstatically, Life is but an illusion!
  9:33am christopherbdnk:

these are ken's best minutes of air, spent on ants and bathrooms.
  9:33am Ants:

We'll be here long after y'all are gone.
  9:33am Listener James from Westwood:

First Burroughs, now Ken's the Exterminator. "You need the service, lady?"
  9:35am BSI:

...and it's BUG POWDER, for crissakes...
  9:36am Listener James from Westwood:

"Give me a pyrethrum job any day . . . "
  9:37am Cecile:

Morning, all!
Ken, I emailed you something you may find amusing and appropriate.
  9:37am Cecile:

Hi, annie, how are the voyage preparatiions going?
  9:38am Skirkiε:

I'd expect a letter from Peta about those ants.
  9:39am BSI:

I tried the pyrethrum. Within a week I was running around, fat as a hog.
  9:40am Igor:

Morning, Ken!

Nice show. May i request a song?

Robyn Hitchcock - Ballon Man

Keeping doin' what you know the best. Greetings from Brazil.
  9:40am bw:

Ken - you can phone it it and its 10000000000x more listenable than folks showing up - wow - my fav parts is that you wanted the ants to die without echo! such compasion!
  9:42am Lizardner Dave:

I know it's a day early, but happy birthday to Dong Sun!
  9:42am still b/p:

Hugh -- that same lyric from big King F.was summoned up for me when the singing started! (Many little brothers and sisters made those sorts of things the soundtrack of the house for a period.)
  9:45am dc pat:

also a day early for d. boon's birthday...
  9:53am Andy in Berlin:

Hey Ken, if you want a long song, how about Devil Glitch by Chris Butler - 69 minutes long! (in Guinness Book of World Records as the world's longest pop song)
  9:55am bobw:

i came to the playlist page to see what this song was (the fresh and onlys) because i dig it and wanted to remember it for my next show... only to realize that i played it on monday! that's one thing about d.j.ing - you often don't actually *hear* the songs you're playing! thanks for the opportunity to hear the whole song, ken!
  9:56am BSI:

Patented BSI sicky advice: For some reason I usually feel much better after blasting BURN TREES by Missing Foundation. It's like pure distilled sonic joy. ... what the hell ever happened to MF anyway?
  9:57am mark:

boy that guy was a potty mouth
  9:58am dc pat:

BSI: I like WORLD PEEEEEAACCE IS DEEEEAAAD.... Did I hear there was a new MF box set?
  9:59am seang:

got any Eleni Mandell?
  9:59am matheus:

"Zii e Zie" and "Perdeau" are not even real portuguese words.

The latter one is french and the first one is just rubbish.

You did a good job with his name, though.
  9:59am Dan B From Upstate:

I'll take Norah Jones over James Taylor any ANY day.
  10:00am Cecile:

Norah Jones is not hateable, she's just kind of boring, with the occasional pretty song.

James Taylor is hateable
  10:00am Mark:

I can't stand Don Henley
  10:01am PMD:

Freebird!
  10:01am annie:

i liked norah jones for about three weeks...
  10:01am Cecile:

Ken, I could stand to hear some FoTC, like I always could.

Or Zapp.

@Mark, that's antoher dude i don't like.
  10:02am ildi:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=2229293565
  10:02am Cecile:

I am such a loser. I put myself on alert for Lady Gaga tickets.
  10:02am Dan B From Upstate:

People Like Us next week? That's exciting! :-D
  10:03am PMD:

State of the station set to music? Sung by Ken?
  10:03am Cecile:

Dan B, it is truly exciting. I love them.
I wish Vicki's aunties would do a show tomorrow.
  10:04am BSI:

DCPat: dunno about the box set, but I heard something about a reissue of the 1933 album (from whence cometh BURN TREES)... that would be a dirty fun hoot.
  10:04am yad:

How bout state of the station interspersed with music
  10:05am Dan B From Upstate:

Cecille, I missing Aunty Pat and Aunty Ellen's april fool's show last year. Should I go back and listen to it?
  10:07am Cecile:

Definintely. I loved it and wanted to transport myself to London and have a sherry with them.
  10:13am Vicki:

wow I can't believe that it was a year ago that the Aunties were on
  10:16am Dan B From Upstate:

I'm kinda' wondering what the station has planned for April Fools this year.
  10:17am jeanne:

I hope they have a gandy dancer or 2 planned
  10:19am Cecile:

who is the adorable pup with the bat-like ears?
  10:20am Olive:

Me
  10:20am BSI:

Dan B: I vote for a 24-hour Kenny G shift for april fools. Evidently I just can't let go.
  10:22am Cecile:

Olive, you are beautiful! You look different under the stage lights. More lovely.

Don't you listen to ubuweb, BSI? Isn't that 24-hour Kenny G?
  10:23am monica:

hi olive!! i miss you.
  10:24am Michelle in Green Bay:

Good morning, everyone!
  10:24am Dan B From Upstate:

BSI, sadly, I haven't listened to Kenny G's show. I'll have to give it a listen... if he ever comes back... or the Ubuweb. I haven't really tried the other streams except for Dor DIY, yet.

A question for Vicki, or Ken, or anyone who can answer it, really: Will the Do or DIY fill in be podcasted? I'd love to walk around with a three hour episode of Do or DIY on my iPod for the next two and a half months!
  10:25am Charlie Sheen:

Hey ma, I'm on the radio!
  10:26am Cecile:

Hi, Michelle, you star!
  10:26am Skirkiε:

I didn't know it was possible for me to think Tom Waits was cooler.
  10:26am Ne-guh-tor:

What's wrong with R. Stevie? I love how wrong he is. He is an incredible artist!
  10:26am Michelle in Green Bay:

Aw, shucks...
  10:27am Vicki:

yes, it should automatically podcast, as far as I know.
  10:28am Dan B From Upstate:

Michelle! Excellent job last week. Thanks for the info, Vicki. I'm a chatterbox this morning. I'm going to shut up and let other people comment, now.
  10:28am Miaowara:

Yura Yura Teikoku is no more! It was announced today over here in Japan...
  10:32am CHarcutero:

this is awesome! roar!
  10:32am Michelle in Green Bay:

Thanks, Dan!
  10:35am annie:

PMD- your go
  10:37am PMD:

What's a freeform listener?
And how many did pledge for life?
  10:40am Gregory:

Perhaps one reason there are so many online listeners is that the signal is rather weak. I am listening in Manhattan, and Ken's voice is emerging hazily through a surf of static. At least, I *think* it's Ken's voice... It's hard to tell.
  10:40am Lizardner Dave:

I think I mis-heard...did Ken just say 82% of pledges come from withn the US and 8% come from outside? Where do the other 10% come from? Or are they location-anonymous?
  10:41am Ken:

I agree - our FM signal has gone to hell. Freeform listeners are non-JM in the Am listeners.
  10:41am Michelle in Green Bay:

Ken's voice emerging from a haze of static is probably an apt metaphor for how he's felling today...
  10:42am Cecile:

I came off what Ken had last week. It's not so fun.
  10:43am Ken:

Dave, I mis-spoke - it's 92% from the US and 8% from outside the US.
  10:44am Skirkiε:

I like listening on FM. When I have to drive to the Bronx there are certain streets where the signal fades between Ken and classical music. It's surreal.
  10:44am chris in madison:

where the hell have i heard this Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes track before? Movie trailer? DRIVING ME INSANE!
  10:44am will:

Pleased to hear this fine song...it's been in "hot rotation" on WERS (Emerson College, Boston) radio for a while now. I wonder if anything else on the CD is as good since WERS tends to play only one song from a CD they like. Will J Pawtucket RI (the "State of Emergency")
  10:46am AnAnonymousParty:

Live, from Meramec Caverns, ladies and gentlemen, Patsy Cline.
  10:46am duane reade:

Ken, you are a very handsome man.
  10:48am Cecile:

Mary Weiss!!!!! she is so cool.
  10:50am Lizardner Dave:

Thanks Ken! I thought I was losing it.
FWIW I look forward to listening on FM at work whenever the booster thing is sorted out. It's impossible to even get a hint of a signal in an office bullding in the Times Square/Rock Center area.
  10:52am Cecile:

I love Washing Machine. It's bad-mouthed, but I liked that trio of late 90s SY - 1000 leaves, Washing Machine, and Ghosts and flowers. I don't like 'em much now.
  10:59am dw:

can't avert my eyes from this tigress twins especially with this Just You and Me soundtrack
  11:01am PMD:

Ken, you could put Zoe back on (from 7sd). 15 minutes covered.
  11:01am PMD:

@ Will - sorry about the flooding. I was born in Pawtucket!
  11:02am Devin:

DJ Michelle!!!
  11:02am Detroit Mac:

Welcome back Elizabeth. Nice to hear your sweet voice again.
  11:03am Cecile:

Michelle!!!!
  11:03am Vicki:

I have to admit I'm only watching your show at the moment. This is because I just killed my ProTools while preparing my fill in, and then I fixed that and now I killed iTunes. I can only begin to guess what the Ants are doing over there but I've a feeling they are over here too.
  11:03am Andy in Berlin:

There was a young girl from Pawtucket
Who...opps!
  11:03am Devin:

Bread crusts make you whistle better... eat up.
  11:05am Andy in Berlin:

just put your two lips together and blow
  11:05am Mark:

my whistling tip for you Michelle, Don't!
  11:05am Ken:

Michaelle, can you do a legal ID please: "WFMU East Orange, WMFU Mount Hope, but not without her permission"
  11:06am PMD:

I'm glad to hear Michelle. Missed it last time.
  11:06am Slim:

You just put your lips together and... blow.
  11:07am PMD:

Oh, oops, this is live! Go Michelle!
Sing Row Row Row your boat - see if you can beat Ken.
  11:07am Andy in Berlin:

Just put your two fingers together and blo...opps!
  11:07am ghost of Fred Allen:

The internet lets people who don't have anything to do watch people who can't do anything.
  11:07am Ken:

That's the whole thing Michelle! Just whistle and I will go into the next song.
  11:07am Skirkie:

Ken's going to get arrested if you don't do the legal ID right now.
  11:08am Cecile:

Michelle, you should get a melodian. Then you could have some great Jah Shaka action going.
  11:08am Mark:

you're most welcome, Michelle
  11:08am Ken:

Yay Michelle!!! Thank you so much!!
  11:08am Hal:

Sing "Daisy".
  11:09am PMD:

Michelle's the BEST!
  11:09am Dan B From Upstate:

Great work again, Michelle! You're livin' the dream! Well... my dream, at least. :-P
  11:09am Michelle in Green Bay:

Thanks! Way fun!
  11:10am Skirkie:

Ahhh, epic freefom radio.
  11:10am Listener Dave from NH:

Oh dear heavens what is going on with that orange thing's face? Thanks for the nightmares, Ken.
  11:10am Tony Shaloub:

Welcome to my nightmare
  11:11am Skirkie:

I got a superficial 2nd degree burn on my arm that looks like that guy's face. I went to the hospital for it.
  11:11am dw:

this Indian Love call would work nicely with Tomita's Snowflakes Are Dancing
11:19am Whose Feline Is It Anyway?:

Add 96 more cats for 99 Fluftballons!
  11:26am Dan B From Upstate:

Whoa... DJ Tom Waits!
  11:27am Skirkie:

I hope you're sanitizing the studio.
  11:30am annie:

i miss larry..
  11:30am Skirkie:

Sounds like Dr. Claw.
  11:32am paul:

good old sigh. this is like mannheim orchestra black metal.
  11:34am rob:

ahhhh more akiki yano pleaaaaase!
  11:35am paul:

duhhh i meant mannheim steamroller
  11:37am Duke of Earl Grey:

I miss Dr. Claw.

Dan B./BSI/Cec, Ubu stream would be more fun if Kenny G. did a show on there, taunting the FCC, but maybe taking away the broadcast FM taboos would make it no fun for him. Currently it's a DJ-less jukebox.
  11:44am BSI:

true 'nuff Duke of EG...
To be honest I keep forgetting about that stream... it would take me away from my precious 'FMU. The cross-contamination between Kenny G & Irwin was always a need-a-shower-afterwards degree of fun.
  11:44am yeah:

good thing
  11:45am -max-:

Thanks Ken! I am truly entertained!
  11:46am Andy in Berlin:

You already did Andy talking in a Mickey Mouse voice. It was good but you already did it.
  11:49am Mark:

that Nardwuar interview should be something for John Lydon doesnt suffers fools lightly
  11:50am Lizardner Dave:

I would think the obvious things for the Wheel would be clog dancing fo Ken and Andy's ventriloquist act for Andy.

Andy's ventriloquist act was the funniest ventriloquist act I've ever seen. And yes I'm serious.
  11:50am Ken:

Sheesh Andy, it's an example!
  11:50am F bum:

Great show, Ken!
  11:52am dw:

how about a slap in the face, like a gentle slap to the face
  11:52am Cecile:

I am so finding the Couch Flambeau 45 of Mississippi Queen and sending it to you Ken. It's like Nardwuar singing it, and the guitar is amazing.
  11:54am Bad Ronald:

Moonie!
  11:54am Andy in Berlin:

Ok then, why don't you two do the show in slow motion?
Oh, sorry, you already do that already.
  11:58am Mark:

Andy in Berlin seems to be in a bad mood today
  12:00pm Andy in Berlin:

Who me?
  1:12pm fatty jubbo:

those 7SD photos are really great. The one where Ken is preparing the underwear has a Flemish classic master-look to it...especially the dog looking on from the corner of the frame.
