  9:04am BSI:

Excedrin?
  9:05am Lizardner Dave:

Good morning.
  9:05am Dan B From Upstate:

Good morning, everyone!
  9:07am BSI:

holy crap! I've got blood & hair on this track.
  9:10am Ne-guh-tor:

Hello, Ken. This.......is Larry.
  9:15am postmanpaul:

This is a funky-delicious-stuff set, Ken.
  9:16am postmanpaul:

Or I'm a banana.
  9:24am Bad Ronald:

Good Morning, listening over the air for once!
  9:24am dei xhrist:

Yay Ken! Chia Obama found - with hipster repackaging and trust fund price.
  9:26am chrizzzi:

hallo to moscow from berlin!!!
~~~chrizzi
  9:26am wha?:
Moscow, PA?
  9:28am chrizzzi:
PA?
  9:28am chrizzzi:
not yet moscow??
  9:30am paul:
this gitar cd is hilarious
  9:30am wha?:
@chrizzzi PA as in state of Pennsylvania. They have a Berlin as well.
  9:33am Ken:
I'll be in Moscow Russia, yo! Not Moscow PA or Berlin, NJ, or Climax Michigan. RUSSIA! Red Scare from Red Square!
  9:33am Skirkie:
New Jersey also has a Berlin.
  9:34am Skirkie:
Er, like Ken just said.
  9:35am Skirkie:
And of course Intercourse, PA, which is in Amish country.
  9:36am Goyim in the AM:
Hello Ken. I am unlikely to ride up to the studio on my bike this morning. (But who knows?)
  9:38am Michelle in Green Bay:
Morning everyone!
  9:44am Cecile:
It's a great day. I'm not going on strike. HALLELUJAH.
  9:44am Ne-guh-tor:
This Quadron rules. Sounds like Little Dragon. Whats up with the new soul music?
  9:45am jen v.:
great set, ken.
  9:46am Ken:
This LCD Soundsystem song reminds me of an Eno tune - what is it?!!!!!
  9:46am Ne-guh-tor:
You know, this LCD stuff really lifts a huge page from Eno. Do they credit him as co-author of this new record? Where did they get Fripp to play on this track?
  9:46am Ne-guh-tor:
HEROS!
  9:47am Ne-guh-tor:
Heroes!
  9:47am Goyim in the AM:
"Here Come the Warm Jets"!
  9:48am Ne-guh-tor:
Guitar line is Heroes......
  9:48am marq:
no, I have not been drinking. Not allowed to anymore. I did just get my swag and the shot glass keeps eyeballing me. maybe I can use it for herbal extract shots. Like milk thistle to heal my liver.
  9:49am Ne-guh-tor:
Additionally, Wrong way up. This last part....
  9:49am Aaron:
Aphex twin does a great remix of heros - доброе утро ken!
  9:50am Ken:
Yeah, it's heroes... alas I cannot find it!
  9:50am BSI:
them penguins hassle my toilet all day, man.
  9:52am Bad Ronald:
This is HCtWJ!
  9:52am Cecile:
I still do not understand why Stereo Review so hated Eno in the 70s. I can't dis them too much though as they turned me on to Steve Lacy and Captain Beefheart.
  9:52am Swami:
This melody (Warm Jets) just left my head after 2 days. It has now been reinstated. Could be worse. I had the "Peek Freens" jingle in my head for a year when I was 11.
  9:53am Ne-guh-tor:
I swear it's a combination of samples of Eno's entire career in one song. Even that bleep-n-bloop synth at the end of that song reminded me of Eno with Roxy!
  9:53am dei xhrist:
Dig the Deep Listening Space kitty, too in tune to clap
  9:53am Bad Ronald:
They're Serious!
  9:53am R I S K Y:
GET EM KEN!!! ALRIIGGGHTT!
  9:54am Skirkie:
It would be utterly perfect timing if my swag arrived today.
  9:54am BSI:
TOILET PENGUINS! GET OUT OF MY DREAMS!
  9:54am Cecile:
I had a Hall and Oates dream last night
  9:55am still b/p:
Anybody have one or two Oblique Strategies samples to post to help us navigate our Wednesday?
  9:55am Ne-guh-tor:
HA!
  9:55am Ken:
Go on, Cecile!!
  9:56am Bad Ronald:
Cluster analysis
  9:57am Ne-guh-tor:
Now play Lay My Love from Wrong Way Up Cale/Eno!
  9:57am it's because:
was the bill orielly "do it live" i just heard...?!
  9:58am Laura L:
Random card just pulled from my set of Oblique Strategies cards:
"Emphasize the flaws." I think we can do that!
  9:59am postmanpaul:
The blinds are drawn, euphoric/despondent real-ale paregoric is being administered in gulps. Yes, England are playing for their lives. And the commentary is muted. Listening to you Ken.
  9:59am Happy Listener:
Ohaiyo, bakkayaro! Ken is in top form this morning! ^_^
  10:00am Cecile:
I dreamed they were up in Calumet, MI and they were playing the Houghton County State Fair. I had heard they were being interviewed, and leaving the TV station. I lined up and the guys were all, "we're selling stuff after the show, so bring your things to sign then."
For some reason I kept chasing after Daryl asking him questions about this show I saw him do about seven years ago. "I thought it was cool that Todd Rundgren opened up! Do you remember when he messed up on the teleprompter? How long have you known him?" Darryl was answering my questions but then started to run toward the limo.
  10:01am Cecile:
I was crushed and embarrassed.
But my husband said, "you asked good questions. I'm sure he was too busy to talk."
We were debating over if we should even go to the show when I woke up.
  10:01am trs:
Hey look! Pictures! How many frames per second is that?
  10:01am Ne-guh-tor:
Darryl was to be the lead singer for King Crimson at one time, right? Then he sang with Fripp on Exposure, right?
  10:02am dei xhrist:
Cecile, you should have played the Oblique Chick card.
  10:02am Cecile:
That's right!
And his solo record North Star has Fripp all over it, and Beyond the Red Ledge was produced by Fripp.
  10:03am Cecile:
LOL! dei, you're right.
My last Flight of Conchords dream was way more disturbing and much cooler.
  10:04am Skirkie:
Ha! Neato http://twitpic.com/1z9fmk
  10:04am Happy Listener:
@trs: to find out, you could download the .gif and count the frames, then measure the length of the loop.
  10:06am Bad Ronald:
RE Daryl, this is a nice site:
http://www.livefromdarylshouse.com/
  10:07am Happy Listener:
I'm so disappointed that the Muppets pulled out at the last minute because of absurd legal reasons.
  10:07am dei xhrist:
are they afraid of puppet AIDS?
  10:07am efd:
Ken, the Real Fish album is also called When The World Was Young and it was released on the Invitation label in 1987. (thanks to discogs.com)
  10:07am Cecile:
It involved Bret McKenzie being born like Athena out of my ankle and then detaching and floating away in a womb-balloon while I chased around Teletubby land while it flew away shouting and waving my hands.
  10:08am Goyim in the AM:
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
  10:08am still b/p:
Thanks, Laura L. for OS.
Flaws...already powerfully, permanently self-emphasizing in a native Oh, Bleak Strategy.
Cecile, can I borrow a dream?
  10:09am Goyim in the AM:
Sumebody get me a vuvuzela, STAT!
  10:09am marq:
they are xenophobapuppets
  10:10am Cecile:
I don't know, sbp, my subconscious is a scary place.
  10:10am Cecile:
Ken, could you get the Avenue Q puppets?
  10:11am Ken:
Thanks efd!!
  10:12am Ken:
Happy Listener - They didnt pull out for LEGAL reason!
  10:13am bw:
Ken I just emailed you a pic of a poster in Russian! You are being advertised like a rock star -
  10:14am still b/p:
Some puppets are more equal than others.
  10:14am Goyim in the AM:
He was referred to as legendary -- you know, like Chupacabra -- on the flyers here in Basel.
  10:15am paul:
PLANT TALK!
  10:18am Skirkie:
Has anyone been seeing the commercials for The Sorcerer's Apprentice?
Nic Cage's character brilliantly delivers the line, "I am a sorcerer. You will be my apprentice." or something like that.
  10:18am Happy Listener:
@Ken: It's just their policy, then? Too bad.
  10:22am dei xhrist:
Cage looks like a paper doll, I swear I can see the folded tabs on his hat! Molina looks awesome though.
  10:25am annie:
good morning everyone!
  10:31am Ken:
Dei, I take it you mean Alfred and not Juana..
  10:33am Goyim in the AM:
Nor Ralph from Crazy Horse-
  10:35am -max-:
Good morning Ken, Larry, Zatumba, et al. Oblique Strategies are available online here:
http://stoney.sb.org/eno/oblique.html
I just got the "Work at a different speed" card. Guess I need to tell my boss that I have to slow down a bit this morning.
  10:41am dei xhrist:
Now that I've seen his site, I do mean Juana.
  10:43am Michelle in Green Bay:
Thanks for that link, Max. I just got "Disciplined self-indulgence"
  10:46am Cecile:
Destroy -nothing -the most important thing
  10:46am Bad Ronald:
"Think of the radio "
  10:48am still b/p:
I see now that "Cluster analysis" is a strategy. When BR posted it earlier as a comment, I thought it was his eager proposal for group interpretation of the described dream. Maybe it was. Eno & Jung , Inc.
  10:49am Skirkie:
Ohhh Goddd...
  10:49am Bad Ronald:
Funny how those cards work!
  10:49am -max-:
Michelle: That would make a great slogan for an FMU shirt.
We received most of our swag this week. (Still waiting on stuff from Ken, 7SD, and Sharpling.) Thanks to everyone who helped get it bundled up and mailed out. Love the Vice Pack.
  10:50am Skirkie:
Wish I could have helped, but I got this stupid day job.
  10:52am Michelle in Green Bay:
Ooo....it would be a good shirt, wouldn't it? So would the one I got when I refreshed the page: "Lost in useless territory".
  10:52am Ne-guh-tor:
Wish I could have helped, but I got this stupid day job.
  10:52am still b/p:
Call call call!
  10:52am Bad Ronald:
201-209-9368
  10:53am Michelle in Green Bay:
Should I, or does someone else want it?
  10:53am marq:
Oh, yeah. I missed the Ken DVD and some other stuff that said backordered. I guess we will get that at some point. more stuff to look forward to on the porch when getting home. Have not washed my t-shirts yet. I like to wash new clothes before wearing them.
  10:53am Goyim in the AM:
Radio chat room AGAIN??!!???
  10:53am Skirkie:
I want to, but...office environment. Curses.
  10:54am -max-:
Line is ringing but not picking up.
  10:57am blacktooth:
These "Yoga For Rednecks" cassettes are really helpful.
  10:59am hamburger:
is this the napoleon dynamite background music?
  10:59am jan:
Such a good show today- very distracting - hard to do any work.
  11:02am BSI:
definitely. .. between the England match (1-0 at the half!), the mind of Ken Freedman, and this gnawing pre-lunch hunga, my morning is gleefully destroyed...!
  11:05am annie:
jan, i was just thinking the same thing. got this reading i have to do... not happenin'
  11:05am Dan B From Upstate:
Trent has been playing that track a lot. I dig it.
  11:09am Liz:
  11:10am -max-:
Ken is responsible for the slack in the world's production on Wednesdays, it is a known fact.
  11:12am Cecile:
Ken, that's an awesome poster!
  11:13am Lizardner Dave:
I think Ken should give away copies of that poster at the UCB theater. Signed by Andy's assistant, of course.
  11:15am Dan B From Upstate:
Desde Rusia! Also, I want a copy of Ken's poster!
  11:15am Vicki:
hello Ken... the internet is really slow here and I'm sure it's the World Cup causing it
  11:17am Bad Ronald:
That ghost seems a tad swish. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
  11:18am Ken:
Anybody know the label for this Charlotte Gainsbourg CD? I want her to get her check for 85 cents.
  11:18am Ken:
  11:38am BSI:
  11:41am Cecile:
I can't disagree with what this guy is saying.
But the tone is a little offputting.
  11:47am annie:
  11:53am listener james from westwood:
  11:53am paul:
america: FUCK YEAH!!!
  11:54am papaya man:
is this in honor of the world cup win?
  11:54am jan:
Hey Ken- didn't you play "torture" years ago- some elaborate sample collage made before digital sampling? Your show reminded me of
this lengthy peice. Not sure if that is the name, but it was amazing.
Maybe you can put that on the record player.
  11:58am Duke of Earl Grey:
If the food in Rossiya is like it was 10ish years ago, Ken, then YOU'D BETTER LIKE CABBAGE. That's all I'm sayin'.
