Listener comments!

  9:02am fºfº:

Morning Ken, everybody!
  9:03am Ken:

Hi fofo!
  9:03am pierre:

BONJOUR KEN !
AND ALL THE LISTENERS !

(Ken, i had a dream with you last night… weird)
  9:04am Elisa:

Buongiorno!!!!!
  9:04am Sam:

Whadddup folks!
  9:05am Looms:

Howdy!
  9:06am Bad Ronald:

Morning!
  9:06am GB_Joe:

Happy 6th everyone!
  9:08am Elisa:

@ Ken I guess you survived the 4th of July?
  9:08am fºfº:

Bonjour, Pierre, Ken!

This is my stolen comment tape.

I'm experiencing technical difficulties! I'm afraid my internet connection is not strong enough to even grab the 20k signal. But thanks to Pierre I'm highly motivated to a non-listener listener.
  9:09am fºfº:

*to be a non-listener listener.
  9:10am Ken:

Pierre, of course I know what you dreamed about me, but can you please share it with the rest of the class?
  9:11am G:

Pierre deamt you were his pill connection.
  9:11am GB_Joe:

we-want to hear about the dream!
  9:11am Sam:

The 4th of july rampaged across the USA leaving a trail of destruction before finally moving out to sea. Now over the Atlantic, it is expected to make landfall in France 8 days from now on the 14th, with more destruction to follow.
  9:12am Skirkie:

Wednesday Wolf Porn
  9:12am pierre:

yeah, this is going to suck hard
  9:13am Elisa:

@ Bring on the destruction...there isn't enough of it...we need spread more of it around...

@Pierre I knew your dream was going to be about sucking.
  9:13am G:

Is the freeform going out as a Hasidic broadcast like last week? :-)
  9:13am other david:

ah the divine sounds of camera obscura <3
  9:14am Dan B From Upstate:

I will happily pay $4.50 for a yearly subscription to Lie Magazine.
  9:14am Ken:

Come on Pierre, suck it up and spill the beans. (Dites Moi!!)
  9:15am G:

Spill the frites.
  9:15am GB_Joe:

I'm guessing lots of reverse cowboy... MORE reverse cowboy... and a blowup doll.
  9:15am Elisa:

IT'S JIMMY Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I LOVE YOU JIMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SWEET JIMMY RIP
  9:16am Skirkie:

I can't tell if you're playing things I really like, or if my tastes have just assimilated to this show over time.
  9:16am Mark:

I think he preferred Jimi
  9:17am Elisa:

oh, it's spelt Jimi...my bad.
  9:17am G:

Why was Lie magazine doing a cover story on hipsters?
  9:18am Elisa:

or Hey Joe?
  9:18am pierre:

@ everyone : oups, the sucking, was about the 4th of july aftermath in France.
@ everybody : ok,

Here is the Ken related dream > I was welcoming Ken at my place, to show him things about music, or you know just havong a good chat. But then some naked people (old men) were coming inside my room, Just because they wanted to use my Bathroom, and during all that i was looking at Ken (who seemed very embarassed) and i was screaming at the naked guys, saying that i didn't rent my flat for old naked dudes to use my bathroom !

What does that means ?
  9:19am G:

Sounds like a WFMU meetup, Pierre
  9:19am pierre:

"having" sorry
  9:19am Elisa:

Your dream means you love Ken and naked old guys looking at your bathroom.
  9:19am Meghan:

Ha! I agree Skirkie! I had to double check to see if it was Ken. Bonjour Pierre!
  9:19am other david:

I think Dream Ken was embarassed by your shouting, the old naked men were with him
  9:19am Cecile:

LOLOLOLOL!
  9:20am fºfº:

OOOH how much I love this beautiful song! <3

I'm feeling romantic now.
  9:20am Cecile:

I think it's a fear of aging and being intimidated by Ken.
  9:21am Ken:

That's funny, it sounds like my brother's bachelor party at the Tenth Street Schvitz.
  9:21am Sam:

You seem to have strong sexual feelings for old naked men, preferably those who are FMU DJs.
  9:21am Cecile:

And, Ken, I finally got to DJ Trent's giant DVD, and forgot how much I love Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You." She's not oversinging for once.
  9:22am Cecile:

Holy crap, that's a massive amount of music to take in. Also: Kent really likes Green Day and Fleetwood Mac.
  9:23am Elisa:

Nice me likey Electric or Thunder Woman photo.
  9:24am pierre:

i like your interpretation Cecile, it makes perfect sense, when i listen to 7 sec delay, i'm often intimidate by KenAndy
  9:24am Elisa:

Lady Lightning?
  9:24am Cecile:

half of these pics look like people who were at the SF convention I was at this weekend.
  9:24am Sam:

No seriously though, I've had dreams like that too, where someone important comes over, you want to make a good impression but all this embarassing stuff happens, like old naked guys, or pieces of the ceiling are falling down or whatever.
  9:24am fºfº:

Pierre,

I bet they were Jack and Justin! the guys from Porn For the Blind! Are you still hiding your s-doll in the bathroom?
  9:24am other david:

fºfº yessums, that lonely sea track was gorgeous.

now i'm all wistful and eating chocolate
  9:25am listener mark:

Lynyrd Skynyrd!
Freebird !
Yeah !
(I know, it was last week, but sometimes I listen to the archive instead of the live show and I didn't have a chance to post this.)
  9:26am Cecile:

Mark, I'm sure Clay Pigeon will play that for you. :D
  9:26am Sam:

I had a dream that I was at some fancy Hollywood dinner party, and I saw Steve Martin. He looked at me and asked me what the hell I was doing there, so I said "I'm a friend of Andy Breckman" and he smiled and looked impressed.
  9:26am fºfº:

Cecile,

Don't tell me you like Mariah Carey! O: You just broked my heart. </3
  9:26am Cecile:

Proof of Utah actually did a killer version when we saw them live in the 80s. They should be rediscovered huge time.
  9:27am Ken:

Hey! I like Mariah Carey!!
  9:27am Cecile:

I like that song. I like Christmas songs.
And, I just namechecked Proof of Utah. That should make up for that. :D
  9:28am listener mark:

Clay Pigeon !
The leader of the Triceratops !
  9:28am Ken:

Proof of Utah. Holy Shit Cecile!
  9:29am pierre:

@ fofo : there nothing in my bathroom, i'd like to, but no…
@ Sam : yeah, it make sense, i'd like to dream about Scott now, or Kenny G, or other djs…
  9:29am Cecile:

I know. The nicest guys and great musicians, and they were barely out of their teens.
  9:30am fºfº:

Oh, c'mon Ken! Do you like any other of her songs besides Vision of Love?
  9:31am Mark:

I was going to make an amusing comment about Pierre's dream but my boss came over to my desk to talk to me
  9:32am pierre:

you still have time Mark :)
  9:32am other david:

@Mark is he still there? Tell him we said hi.

Now on with your amusing comment :)
  9:32am Brian in UK:

Cecile I hard that MC likes you too. What's not to like.
  9:32am Listener Bill:

Ken's DJ premium for next year is a guest appearance in the dream of your choice.
  9:33am Ken:

fofo, I was not aware that she HAD any songs other than Vision of Love.
  9:34am Mark:

No he's gone, damn work getting in the way of listening and posting to Ken's show.
  9:34am Cecile:

I found out that SF author Frederick Pohl is not only blooging at 92, but he won a Hugo for best fan writing at 91! I'm inspired. Love that guy.
  9:35am Beavis:

She said blooging, heheheh
  9:35am Sam:

You need to take Wednesdays off. It's a great way to break up the week.
  9:35am seang:

run, monkey, run
  9:35am Mark:

that's a good idea
  9:36am seang:

totally, no one should work on Wednesdays
  9:36am gummisko:

Hey Ken. We were listening to a song by de Artsen, from the Netherlands. It say's Artsten in the playlist. Makes it easier to pronounce maybe...
  9:36am Strategician:

I got paid.
  9:37am fºfº:

Mark, I agree but quite in the opposite manner! Damn show getting in the way of my life! OOOOoooh but how MUCH I love it! <3
  9:37am Mariano:

Don't feel bad Ken: I like songs too!
  9:38am other david:

I suppose we can't have 24/7 Dave Emory :(
  9:39am fºfº:

seang, I agree.
  9:39am Cecile:

YAYAYAY!
  9:40am Cecile:

I'd also like to hear that Timmy's Organism song about the Devendra Barnhart diet: carrots and marijuana.
  9:40am Mark:

so, the way to get Ken to play a band is to have Cecile mention them.
  9:40am Meghan:

Who'da thunk! Songs! And now requests?!?! What happened to our Ken!
  9:41am other david:

First time hearing Proof of Utah, awesomeness!

*dances the holy cow*
  9:41am Strategician:

I injected Ken. His attitude is much better now, don't you think?
  9:42am fºfº:

Cecile, good one! I also like WTF songs!
  9:42am Cecile:

david - they were teenagers from Toledo when they made their first record! They were totally into Fred Frith, Zappa and the Residents. Amazing guys.
  9:43am Ken:

Wow, they were from Toledo? Poor kids.
  9:43am Tom Hanks:

Hey guys! I know you all saw my movie Larry Crowne last weekend, but maybe you should think about seeing it a 2nd time! The jokes are even better the 2nd time around!
  9:44am Ken:

Pierre - Translation Needed next song.
  9:44am Michigander:

Spoken like a true Ann Arborite, Ken.
  9:44am Cecile:

Gretchen Lindensmith and I interviewed them at WCBN. Our favorite interview, and the show the following week was spectacular.
  9:44am toledo native:

ha!
  9:44am Mark:

from what I hear, the jokes weren't any good the first time, Tom
  9:44am Cecile:

Hell, even the Necros moved to Ann Arbor eventually.
  9:45am Michelle in Green Bay:

Morning all!
  9:45am Ken:

Hi Michelle!
  9:45am other david:

Cecile, going to check them out - really love the sound.

Tom how did you manage to hook your typewriter up to the intertubes?!
  9:45am Cecile:

morning, michelle!
  9:46am texas scott:

diggin' the hubcap-stealing monkeys
  9:46am Tom Hanks:

I'm having Julia Roberts dictate me (*wink *wink)
  9:46am Cecile:

david, their stuff is way out of print. They had to drive out to California at the Greenworld barnkrupcy auction to get their remaing vinyl back. And pay for it! You can find it on torrents.
  9:46am Sam:

Je vais te casser le cou =
I'm going to break your neck
  9:47am Francophony:

"Track Two" is French for "Track Two".
  9:47am Sam:

Then he says his violent tendencies are because of TV
  9:47am Cecile:

they also have MP3s on their site.
  9:48am other david:

Cecile, thanks will do.

Francophony - [citation needed]
  9:48am Sam:

You haven't finished your soup!
You don't know what you're missing!

I'll cook you beneath my spankings!

(partial translation)
  9:49am pierre:

"You have bruise on the face it remind me of the french riviera"
"finish your crosswords, or i'll beat your face…"
"the papers are free, but its no reasons to…"

It… to… Fast… bad… memory…
  9:49am hamburger / london:

yay yelle :3
  9:49am pierre:

Yelle "the big jump"
  9:50am Michelle in Green Bay:

Hi Ken and Cecile!

I'm grading papers for my summer class while I listen. Listening to Ken's show always makes the grading go down easier. Ken, you should know that I arranged my fall semester schedule around being able to listen to your show more often.
  9:50am pierre:

Yelle "the big jump"
  9:50am Francophony:

fn -- Dictionnaire de Franglais
  9:50am Mark:

  9:52am Cecile:

Oh, they were from Champaign - they were just all at BGSU at the time.
  9:53am Mark:

love Kid Quentin's glasses
  9:54am jen v.:

yaaay jaqee
  9:55am Michelle in Green Bay:

Loving this song! Just looked it up on iTunes and saw it's categorized as reggae. Really?
  9:56am Sam:

Someone classified it based on the beat
  9:56am pierre:

Sam, you french ?
  9:56am fºfº:

If that's reggae Mariah Carey is gore punk.
  9:57am Sam:

Non, mais j'habite Paris depuis 8 ans
  9:58am moose:

i learnt etienne charry from ken- prinsen!
  9:59am fºfº:

heey, those guys are from brixton, innit?
  10:00am Sam:

Yeah Prinsen is a great song I also learned from Ken, but it's not the best thing on that album. There's all kinds of jewels hidden away on there.
  10:00am fºfº:

Hey, I like that Prinsen song a lot! Love duets! <3 <3
  10:01am Michelle in Green Bay:

I guess I can sort of hear something sorta reggaeish in the beat...but still, WTF?
  10:01am pierre:

@Sam : all right ! A new fmuers to our (sometimes) fmu parisian meetings !
  10:01am moose:

yes the whole album is perfect
  10:01am Sam:

Yeah!
You have fmu meetings?
  10:04am pierre:

@Sam : yeah, sometimes, with Fred (who comments here quite often) and Dave B when he is in Paris. Last week i was *this* close to share a drink with Benjamen Walker.
  10:07am Sam:

Wow cool!
Ken, after Washington Heights and Coney Island, can you schedule something for Paris?
  10:07am moose:

i always figured we're all too shy and weird
  10:08am G:

Drink yourself into an add-on pledge, they hope.
  10:08am other david:

@moose, that's where alcohol comes in

*crosses toes for an eventual Dublin meetup*
  10:09am Sam:

They're officially called Lonely Hippie Loser Conventions
  10:09am fºfº:

Moose,

We are normal people! Don't say that! hahahaha..hAHdhasHUIEOHAEUIHOE.
  10:11am pierre:

being shy and weird, are good reasons for meeting
  10:12am other david:

@Ken - could you ask Don if he still has the awesome outfit he wore when he played keyboards with Sonic Youth on their TV debut
  10:15am A naked guy:

Hi Ken !
  10:16am Cecile:

YAY! American Astronaut!
  10:18am other david:

is this gif from a previous woof moo meetup?
  10:19am G:

Yeah, the FMU Hollywood meetup with Andy's Tinseltown pals.
  10:20am Ken:

Thanks Other David! I will ask him. Yes - that is a gif from the meetup I hosted in San Francisco last month.
  10:20am fºfº:

Hopefully not, other david. I want my meet up full of old non-alcoholic men, weird looking,
  10:20am other david:

All that's missing are the naked old men and shouty Pierre
  10:22am Strip Van Wrinkle:

I dreamed I stayed in Pierre's bathroom for 20 years reading back issues of Le Monde while Ken knocked and knocked.
  10:24am Mark:

Pierre's dream was actually a preview of a WFMU meetup in Paris!
  10:24am other david:

@Ken - the video used to be up on Youtube, they played Silver Rocket on some show and I think Don was rocking a pimp hat and a full length leather coat, while bashing away at a keyboard. Great performance actually :)
  10:24am Sam:

I'm in the 70% category, toilet paper over. It's important that in an emergency you are able to grab the paper easily and pull it off without any awkward reaching under.
  10:25am fºfº:

Mark,

Oh là là.
  10:25am chris:

I'm debating whether or not to send the over under diagram to all my coworkers...
  10:25am Ken:

We could do a naked listener meetup in New Orleans, at The Country Club in Bywater.
  10:25am moose:

always under
easier to stop
  10:26am Sam:

WHY STOP??
  10:26am Jay Leno:

My toilet paper is the only thing about me that I want to be over.
  10:27am moose:

stop the extra rolling
  10:27am your cat:

Either way, I'm good.
  10:27am moose:

unrolling
  10:28am Sam:

I say let it roll freely and abundantly.
  10:28am chris:

Under just feels so damn wrong. I am extremely artistic I might add!
  10:29am Carmichael:

Jesus H. Christ, it's Wednesday. What it be, Kenneth and fellow hump day-ers?
  10:29am Mark:

I think this is the video to which you refer other david:
http://rutube.ru/tracks/764214.html?v=7fcf0c43bbb7c0be9dbb9adc228efc26
  10:29am blip:

70% of people listen to crappy music, too.
  10:30am Sam:

More like 91.1%
  10:30am other david:

@Mark - YESS! Thank you sir
  10:33am BSI:

I EAT MY OWN FACE!
  10:33am Mark:

@other david, you're welcome, it is from a music show that the odious David Sandorn used to have, I think it was on NBC
  10:33am fºfº:

But still the millenarian question about toilette paper hasn't been answered: do you wipe yourself from from front to back or back to front?
  10:34am Skirkie:

How do you get to Frankford?
  10:34am GB_Joe:

I wipe top to bottom.
  10:35am Ken:

That will be quite enough wiping talk, thank you very much. Congratulations on finding the line.
  10:37am fºfº:

ok. let's keep all those personal details in our Facepoop.
  10:38am blip:

No one heard you, Ken.
  10:39am Ken:

I wipe comments about wiping.
  10:39am other david:

ahem.
  10:39am Mark:

make that "the odious David Sanborn",
  10:39am chris:

Aah, true.

Does anyone really think it is appropriate to be appropriate here?
  10:40am Ken:

Sorry. I dont want to hear about how you wipe your fucking ASS. Jesus!
  10:40am Sam:

What about grown men who pee sitting down? What's the deal with that?
  10:41am Ass:

*I* don't even wanna know.
  10:41am chris:

I am actually by myself laughing out loud right now
  10:42am other david:

Actually... this sounds like an ideal shut up weirdo topic...
  10:42am Therapist:

That's how it begins, Chris.
  10:44am Tom Hanks:

I'm with Ken. If you are looking for good, clean humor then see my new movie Larry Crowne.
  10:44am blip:

Change the second period in Ken's comment to a comma...
  10:44am Robert:

Radio Jox, Social Networking for the Radio Broadcasting Industry, keeps soliciting me. You think they harvest e-mail addresses from here?
  10:44am chris:

come to think of it... there is something so special about laughing by oneself
  10:44am Mark:

(I think Ken missed one of the wiping comments)
  10:45am Jesus:

Did ken wipe the comments from the top or the bottom?
  10:45am Therapist:

It takes practice to wipe (comments) completely.
  10:46am Sam:

Laughing all alone is the best. Especially when it's for no reason, just something funny you thought of that makes you totally lose it.
  10:46am The Surfaris:

A-heh-ha-h-ha-ha...
  10:47am GB_Joe:

@chris ... wipe that grin off your face
  10:48am Therapist:

@GB_Joe: There's a pill for that.
  10:48am chris:

I've never totally lost it by myself but I'm sure it's neat.

Do these live message boards ever have to be censored by the powers that be concerned about decorum?
  10:49am Therapist:

It's up to individual DJs. It's their show. Freeform wiping.
  10:49am chris:

Now that would require a side to side technique I believe GB
  10:49am OM:

Decorum? WFMU?!
  10:49am GB_Joe:

... don't you mean 'Ken has a pill for that'.
  10:50am Ken:

Robert, the email addresses here are not harvestable or readable by the outside world.
  10:50am Sam:

Yeah, Ken will kick you off if you keep saying dumb shit.
  10:50am Therapist:

Natch, GB, goes widdout sayin'! Multiple pill possibilities, since you ask, and personal evaluations of each of them.
  10:51am Mark:

suppositories, Therapist?
  10:51am Ken:

Chris - Each DJ gets to moderate their own comments thread.
  10:53am chris:

Cool. Too bad this DJ is uninterested in wipe techniques. Oh well, at least he plays weird ass music.
  10:53am Michelle in Green Bay:

Are we hearing the soundtrack to the apocalypse?
  10:55am other david:

@Michelle, I think this is the music Ken plays when he's on the verge of kicky kicky ban ban due to us commenters taking it too far
  10:56am Therapist:

Let's not be asses.
  10:56am Robert:

I know, Ken, I was just kidding about the addresses, but good covering your ass.
  10:56am pierre:

Will there be Tonetta ?

(oooh that's it, i'm realizing that the first time i heard toneta, that was on Ken's show, so Ken+naked guy = Tonetta ! - but the guys in the dream looked more like a fat Steve Buscemi… sorry i'm gonna stop talking about my dream…)
  10:56am Therapist:

Too late.
  10:58am Michelle in Green Bay:

@ other david: Same thing, then, right? ;-)
  10:58am blip:

Bye Chris.
  11:00am other david:

@ michelle, too true... hell hath no fury like a grossed out Ken
  11:01am Therapist:

The sandman entered, did his thing, and left.
  11:01am Aaron in JCity:

  11:02am Handsome Harry:

Yeah, that vocalist is horrible.
  11:03am still b/p:

That last picture is like Phoenix yesterday.
  11:03am Mark:

I saw JG Thirwell and Lydia Lunch standing at the exit at a Butthole Surfers show, making sure everyone noticed them.
  11:04am Therapist:

Take good care of your membranes.
  11:06am Therapist:

@Mark: Ixnay on the Uttholebay.
  11:06am coelacanth:

Ken,could you be specific?
  11:06am Yahoo:

I love the sound of my voice!
  11:07am Mark:

oops!
  11:08am Dan and Joel:

Can you give us an example?
  11:10am other david:

*shines the japanese translator alert beacon*
  11:10am Carmichael:

Leave it to the Japanese to figure out the mystery of the Great Pyramid AND the Sphinx. What's next, Atlantis?!?
  11:14am Jan:

any Japanese speakers listening today who will translate the Tokyo Complaints Choir?
  11:15am G:

It's a complaint about people who don't know where the line is.
  11:16am GB_Joe:

... "Used Panty Vending Machine never accept crumpled yen"
  11:16am Carmichael:

Is/are Dokaka Japanese?
  11:17am Cecile:

he is, carm
  11:18am BDR:

Marty McSorly speaks Japanese?
  11:18am pierre:

how would someone feel, if being treated like a potato ?
  11:19am other david:

As an Irish person, I can say I'd feel.. worshipped.
  11:21am pierre:

Eh bah Voilà… TONETTA !
  11:23am fºfº:

Some one needs to mix this and previous song: Poketta-Tonetta.
  11:23am Indiana Jordan:

I begin my weeks not with Monday, nor with Sunday, but when Ken plays Tonetta.
  11:23am pierre:

and if you want, Ken, there's another Dave Bunker show picture : http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_iV0CxzRQRdw/TFItdVe8DhI/AAAAAAAADaU/b8nigf6wD6A/s1600/The+Dave+Bunker+Show1.jpg

  11:24am other david:

After last weeks show, I was very saddened to read Bernt Dahlback died shortly after recording his version of Je T'aime in 1978 - he was 38 :(
  11:26am pierre:

HAHAHAHAH…
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UKKKLqZgqXs/TWHkPyk9BmI/AAAAAAAAEH4/r8Ue25RXt7g/s1600/bz_01-21-11_TSAR.jpg
  11:27am fºfº:

Other david, oh yeah. I read about that too. Apparently he was a good comedian and he's still loved and remembered by new and old Sweden generations.
  11:27am rst-awhile:

Good nearly-afternoon music, *.
  11:29am Sam:

Didn't Kid Koala sample this?
  11:29am other david:

fºfº - yep, his version of Je T'aime had me rolling around with laughter - shared it with a lot of people since who've loved it too
  11:30am bbell:

Love the thieving monkeys. Any news on how the baboon escaped from Great Adventure last week? A stowaway under a wheel well of an Escalade?
  11:31am Mark:

and here'e the video of Sonic youth playing "I wanna be your dog" on the above referenced David Sanborn show:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BII01gneTU
  11:32am Ken:

Sam - The Slew IS Kid Koala.
  11:33am other david:

Mark, thank you - again!
  11:34am Mark:

other david, you're welcome again!
  11:36am fºfº:

It took me 100 years to realize Kid Koala was/still is a funny chap and a very talented DJ. Watch his videos on YT if you haven't. He's adorable.
  11:36am Gaston:

No, after you!
  11:36am Mark:

isn't David Sanborn a doofus?
  11:37am Cecile:

A doofus that made an Ornette Coleman tribute record with Julius Hemphill and Tim Berne
  11:39am Mark:

I find Sanborn's sax playing extremely annoying, though he does have good taste in music
  11:40am fºfº:

And just realized I'm a doofus because I wikipedied who's David Sanborn you're keep talking about and l also search for what doofus is.
  11:41am joe mulligan:

love guns. played this in college and the neighbors in the house next door came banging on the door asking, "what the hell is going on over ther, world war III?" Well, kinda..
  11:41am Mark:

glad to be keeping you busy
  11:42am Bob Marley:

I shot the comments
And I also shot the commenter
  11:43am Carmichael:

I've always found Sanborn to be boring, personality-wise, but an excellent musician. And Night Music was a quirky affair that I watched religiously.
  11:44am fºfº:

Joe Mulligan, you mean you played Guns live?? I like Guns (without the Now).
  11:44am Mark:

yeah, I remember Sun Ra on Night Music
  11:46am Bob Marley:

Sounds good, Ken -- we already had enough "crappy" on the board :-)
  11:46am joe mulligan:

@ f0f0, I've played it on college radio in Philly, but the incident was just through my own speakers in the house.
  11:47am Robert:

Green Grow The Lilacs
  11:48am Robert:

The Yellow Rose of Texas
Should that point to yellow or rose?
  11:50am Robert:

Lots of gold & silver songs too.
  11:50am glenn:

20 of them will be wire songs. the other 10 will be the minutemen.
  11:50am Jan:

Figured out almost all of the color schematic except for pink- shouldn't it be "Big Pink" as in "the Band" or is there a line about "little houses" I of which I am unfamiliar?
  11:50am don:

i have that pokemon cd at home. i forgot the name of that song! tell you what, i'll go home at lunch and check, come back and post it here. it's something about 'can you draw a pokemon'. or maybe that was a different song? i'll check.
  11:51am Mark:

in fact the Sun Ra show also featured, the Pixies,Syd Straw, Arthur Baker, Al Green and Sister Carol
  11:53am Carmichael:

I believe that's a John Cougar Melonhead reference to Pink Houses: "Little pink houses for you and me".
  11:53am Mark:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_Night_(American_TV_program)
  11:53am Ken:

Yeah, there's an error on that color chart - it should be Blue Christmas, not Green Christmas.
  11:56am Robert:

I'm sure there's also a Green Christmas.
  11:57am J J:

Not for da war king. Love that song.
  11:58am other david:

I'm out folks, great show Ken - my apologies for willful and knowing crossing of the line earlier :P

Cya's later
  11:59am fºfº:

Ken, thanks for the show! Another great one! :) I'm going to add that song from Perfect Vacuum to my WFMU treasure chest.
  11:59am Carmichael:

Thanks, Kenneth.
  11:36pm don:

That Pokemon song is called ぐにゃぐにゃガスガス "Gunya Gunya Gasu Gasu." that is a typical Japanese onomotopia (sp?) which describes scribbling with a crayon. I have the song on a 5-song CD called "Pokemon kakeruka na?" (Can you draw Pokemon?)
  12:14am Katherine:

Hey, did you play a cover of "I call your name" today? I mean, the answer should be in the playlist, and I don't see it, but I could have sworn I heard it this morning on wfmu.
  7:29pm djspidermanc:

excellent Ken, Sets like this show me why you are a top DJ , fucking amazing choice of music, really appreciated, cheeeeers.long live WFMU
