In the context of SF's framing of the sounds, you are absolutely right. But I feel a smidge uncomfortable in that frame. I prefer to delude myself into thinking I can impose my own non-gazing-at-the-other experience.

What did Ms. Elliman have to do a thing like that for!? But I don't hold people's like for that stuff against them. I had to get some Jello for my wife when she was sick. I am so glad they had it already made in little containers, and I did not have to make it myself.

@Doug, I thought the gefilte fish juice becomes congealed when someone puts the jar in the fridge first. So, one should remember to let the jar get to room temperature before opening. I did not know that some of it comes in a jelly that stays congealed even at room temperature. What an awful invention.

I recognize that now! I have seen that in the store, but then my memory must have blocked it out as soon as it is out of view. My friends and family must have been very considerate and maybe avoided bringing the jellied stuff. Actually, I think they prefer the liquid broth too.

@Carmichael,
I like the kinds of canned fish you describe, but I have never met any women who do. My mom will tolerate it, but I won't eat it when my wife is around. It's so convenience. Toss 'em on pizza, on toast, anything.

@Glenn:
Here in the Chicago area, all of the menus say "Lake Superior Whitefish". Is the kind from Lake Huron better? If so, then something to put on the list, for a Great Lakes road-trip.

Thanks! UNtil now, I was one of the many ex-St. Louisans, who was still in the dark about what exactly the cheese was on those pizzas. I hope they never settled on whether Imo's is pronounced as "I-Mohz" or "Eee-mohz". They used to intentionally keep that disagreement alive.

OMG, I love this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am pacific standard simon:

Speaking of being less smart than an octopus, I finally decided to subscribe to your newsletter, Doug. And now I can't remember how to do it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:04am Doug Schulkind:

Nope, different Korean singer. This gal has not, to my knowledge, been executed.

Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:09am listener james from westwood:

part of "the wolverine" takes place in japan, so that makes sense. haven't seen it, so no idea on context. "insert song" might be background/diegetic music.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Uncle Michael:

Could you cut my pizza into six slices? I don't think I can eat eight.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:12am Doug Schulkind:

Hey Listener James from Westwood, you can't just throw around terms like "diegetic." It's not like were all smarty octopuses over here!
Avatar 11:14am kat330:

Hi, Doug & All! Busy, busy, but just had to log in so I could star this Aimina -- reminds me of Early Music (meaning Euro-centric). Bye!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:14am pacific standard simon:

listener james fiddles with words for a living, so he's allowed some musical license.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:16am listener james from westwood:

and here i was careful to buy only the diegetic cookies at the baker's!

Octo-py-py - cover of a Meter's tune by a band of octopuses.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am Doug Schulkind:

Hi/bye kat330.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:17am Doug Schulkind:

@trish
I would pay to hear that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18am pacific standard simon:

Is "Mani Agyina" a foreign language cover of "Words of Love"?
  11:20am trish:

Working on it -- some are holed up practicing with coconuts and shells. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AP_dpbTbess
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:21am Doug Schulkind:

According to Google Translate, "Mani Agyina" in English means "Mani Agyina."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am pacific standard simon:

@trish - If Ernie Kovacks were still with us, I'm sure he could train them.

The song title of our next track sure sounds like a euphemism for something. What do you think it might be?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am Doug Schulkind:

"Spank the Butterfly"
Avatar 11:36am glenn:

either pot smoking or sexifying.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:36am Uncle Michael:

That's not very euphamistic.
