Re-caught part of the Soul Train history doc the other day. It talks about the old Afro-Sheen ads, which seem pretty entertainingly terrible, but didn't seem to run in markets I was in back in the day. Some are street scenes, etc., but the one with Frederick Douglass showing up in a teen's bedroom and admonishing him to take more pride in his hair might be the blue ribbon entry.

if you're using fish flakes, put a piece of kombu in some water, bring to boil, remove kombu before boil, add 1/2C flakes and turn off heat. Let sit until the flakes sink. Strain. Make miso.

I fear you'll start a fisty ruckus 'round here if you pursue the question.
Avatar 11:35am earrie:

Considering the half-life is on the order of magnitudes more than 'a couple years'.
Avatar 11:36am dc pat:

that's a reasonable fear, earrie. I just checked mine, from China!

So, about KaTe, one last time. 34 years ago:

"Not that I mind losing money on a tour--there are so many benefits from it--as long as we don't go bankrupt. We do want to tour again, we will tour again, because there are so many things we still want to do on stage, but we'll have to think about it very carefully because it will stop me doing a lot of other things."

OK, friends, without Googling, try to guess who the lead vocal is on this next track by the Temptones...
Avatar 11:45am Carmichael:

Now you're talkin', Doug! Great tune!
Avatar 11:45am ndbob:

I'd say Topshelf Oldies - not freeform since it's 50s and 60s oldies - but tremendous variety within that framework
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Uncle Michael:

There are many points of contact between FMU and Luxuria.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am holland oats:

Oh and by the way, the lead vocal on the Temptones number was DARYL HALL.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:50am Alex In Illinois:

Wait, mine are not all free-form. Just non-commercial.

Tony Pike-Seems he owned a studio on Dryburgh Road in Putney England in which he did most of the producing. All evidence of most of this out put seems to be in the small run/private pressing stock. Again all mention I can find seems to end sometime in the early 70's so I would venture a guess that he stepped away from the music biz at that point or may have how should we say "moved on". I see he worked with bands such as THE SONS OF ZEBEDEE,The Shades of Blue, The Maniax and then what ever out put was released on Tepee records. Based on current Google Maps images I'm going to say that unless there has been some major overhaul to the neighborhood it was a home based studio.

Doug, I know you are a stickler for accuracy but I go up a mountain called Barf and there you go. Robert Wyatt's track is called Chelsea, I believe. It was a lovely day for a walk. Anyway what brought me here was Frank Gossner's Premium Voodoo Funk.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 12:04pm Brian in UK:

The irony is that cuniform is the earliest recorded written language pressed into mud and left to dry in that sad place that is/was Mesopotamia.
