That dog could be in two tollbooths on the Parkway at once!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:58pm Doug Schulkind:

Pay your fare! Pay your fare!
Avatar 5:59pm Holly in NC:

There's a Chris Christie joke here somewhere, but I can't see it...
Doug, I have faith in you.

Have I told recently how much I love you?
Glad you're back!
Avatar 6:00pm ndbob:

evening Doug. James, everyone!
Avatar 6:00pm ndbob:

Heya Holly!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello dear Holly! Hello dear ndbob!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:03pm listener james from westwood:

@Holly: Christy just uses Sleaze-E-Pass in his car!
Avatar 6:03pm Sarah N:

Welcome back Doug (Duggles)!
  6:04pm Dean:

Titles of long songs? Or long titles of songs?
  6:04pm Dean:

This title recalls a Cecil Taylor title...
Avatar 6:05pm Sarah N:

Hurrah! We love Bix!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:05pm Doug Schulkind:

Hallo there, Sarah N! Thanks for staying up late!

@Dean
Looooooooooooooong titles.
Avatar 6:06pm redkayak:

Evening, all :)

Just not over the GWB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:07pm Doug Schulkind:

Yo yo yo, redkayak!
Avatar 6:08pm Peter Nelson:

Long song titles....right...(sound of cracking fingers)...how about "Welcome All Shoppers To The 24-Hour Garage Bootleg (Reminding Me Of The Reasons Why I Left My Job With The Royal Mail)" on " Twocsinak & DJ Sarah Wilson ‎– Present 'Jesus Is A Brave Little Toaster' Volume 1: Take Nothing But Footprints, Leave Nothing But Photographs"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:08pm Doug Schulkind:

If y'all find this ridiculous theme particularly captivating, I invite you to visit the first program in the series: wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:09pm Doug Schulkind:

@Peter Nelson
That just gave me a DJ boner.
  6:09pm Dean:

Another band/artist name for the tickler file: DJ Boner
Avatar 6:09pm ndbob:

I do remember that show Doug!
Avatar 6:10pm Peter Nelson:

A Doug boner or a dog boner?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:11pm Doug Schulkind:

My favorite sort of theme for this Tuesday show is an absurd conceit that just lets me play a freeform hour of sweet music.

@Peter Nelson
So many boners, so little time.
  6:11pm Dean:

Henry Purcell would put you over the top, then, Doug: http://www.hyperion-records.co.uk/dc.asp?dc=D_CDS44161/3
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:12pm Doug Schulkind:

Long, longer, longest, Dean!
Avatar 6:12pm Peter Nelson:

Not a song title, but an album " Kasai Allstars ‎– In The 7th Moon, The Chief Turned Into A Swimming Fish And Ate The Head Of His Enemy By Magic"
Avatar 6:13pm Carmichael:

How long is that doggie on the website? Heya Doug and drumheads.
  6:14pm Dean:

Ironically, "Watthu Prasong Lae Khwam Cham Pen Thi Cam Cam Khong Ma Chai" is Thai for "Hot for Teacher."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:14pm Doug Schulkind:

Greeeetings, Carmichael!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:15pm Doug Schulkind:

Long artist names are nice, but don't excite me.
Avatar 6:15pm Peter Nelson:

@Dean lol
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:16pm Doug Schulkind:

@Dean
Tis true!
Avatar 6:16pm Sarah N:

"Regretting What I Said to You When You Called Me 11:00 On a Friday Morning to Tell Me that at 1:00 Friday Afternoon You're Gonna Leave Your Office, Go Downstairs, Hail a Cab to Go Out to the Airport to Catch a Plane to Go Skiing in the Alps for Two Weeks, Not that I Wanted to Go With You, I Wasn't Able to Leave Town, I'm Not a Very Good Skier, I Couldn't Expect You to Pay My Way, But After Going Out With You for Three Years I Don't Like Surprises" - Christine Lavin
  6:18pm Dean:

That's a doozy, Sarah N., but I believe it's more commonly referred to as RWISTYWYCM1OAFMTTMTA1FAYGLYOGDHACTGOTTATCAPTGSITAFTWNTIWTGWYIWATLTINAVGSICEYTPMWBAGOWYFTYIDLS

This guy sounds kinda indecisive....
Avatar 6:19pm Sarah N:

Rolling on the floor laughing, holding my head, ha ha :)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:22pm Artie Haywire:

I'd explain why this is fun, but it would take literally forever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:24pm Doug Schulkind:

Perfectly acceptable use of the modifier "literally," Artie Haywire.
Avatar 6:27pm Carmichael:

I just realized there is no harp in this song.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:28pm Doug Schulkind:

Classic bait-and-switch, Carmichael.
  6:29pm Diane W:

The harp is playing rests.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:29pm Doug Schulkind:

Excellent point, Diane W!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Artie Haywire:

It's hard to bow a flat harp.
  6:30pm Diane W:

As is your bait-and-switch, Doug! Bataille would have loved that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:30pm Doug Schulkind:

Makes me think of Alex Ross' fabulous book, The Rest Is Noise.
  6:31pm Diane W:

must google that one
  6:31pm Dean:

Fuchsia is always going on about short song titles. That's the harp.

Bataille is my favorite syphilitic librarian.
  6:32pm Diane W:

Oooh! Must buy that book.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:34pm Doug Schulkind:

I tried to convince Alex Ross to do a show on WFMU, or at least to be a regular guest on my program. He was busy finishing that book and got significantly busier when it was named a finalist for the Pulitzer.
  6:35pm Diane W:

Always enjoy reading his writing. I learn something every time - for me, the mark of a good critic.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:37pm Doug Schulkind:

Do his prolific readers have the Bataille scars to prove it?
  6:38pm Diane W:

ha hahaha!
  6:43pm Dean:

Sort of variation on "A People Divided...," another long title.
  6:43pm Dean:

er. united
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:44pm Doug Schulkind:

A people untied...
Avatar 6:50pm Peter Nelson:

Now that's confusing. What's a guy from New England doing writing songs about cricket?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:52pm Doug Schulkind:

New England, old cricket.
Avatar 6:52pm Peter Nelson:

Which brings to mind 'Roy Harper - When an Old Cricketer Leaves The Crease', which is a little lengthy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53pm Uncle Michael:

It's good to be listening to you again, Doug. I've had the last half of the show on. I'm still adjusting to my new work schedule.
Avatar 6:54pm Peter Nelson:

Kasai All Stars! Yey!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Doug Schulkind:

Looks like Mr Harper has avoided a lengthy stay in gaol.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:54pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello Reverend Doctor Brother Uncle Michael!
Avatar 6:57pm ndbob:

excellent show Doug!

Long-title show that wasn't short on entertainment. Thanks, Doug!
  6:59pm Diane W:

So thoroughly enjoyable - it was too short for a program with a theme like this! Thanks Doug!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:59pm dave:

Thanks, Doug - and that's the long and the short of it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:00pm Doug Schulkind:

I'm so pleased you enjoyed it! Hey there, dave!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm Doug Schulkind:

Woohoo, Sarah N!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 9:52am Brian in UK:

Been away visiting various daughters around the country hence no astringent comments. Love this show, almost on the way to a bracketed song title show. Typo on Lula Reed Break for Greak.
