Avatar 12:02pm Listener dc 108581:

Holy COW! That's a long one-note lead.
Avatar 12:03pm Carmichael:

Heya Joe and rekkid lissenahs.
  12:03pm Listener David:

Just fyi...Since 90.1 came back on, it sounds hollow, muffled, and a bit of an echo.
Avatar 12:04pm Joe B:

thanks David - it is on backup. thanks for the heads up before
Avatar 12:04pm Cheri Pi:

my kinda schtick
Avatar 12:06pm V Priceless:

Hey JB, peeps...
Avatar 12:08pm Cheri Pi:

Heya JBee'ers!
Avatar 12:11pm Joe B:

Greeting everyone, thanks for tuning in!
Avatar 12:14pm Todd-o-phonic:

Night Beats and Death By Unga Bunga...two great new albums!
  12:15pm Miss Georgia Peach:

Off to a killer start today, Joe!! FEED ME!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:17pm mariano:

Love Drunks -- great name! Great song too.
Avatar 12:17pm Listener dc 108581:

I'll bet that guy singing for the Love Drunks suffers from insomnia a lot..
  12:18pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

Joe, you're blasting away the cobwebs--far more rousing than the coffee today. Just what I need.
  12:21pm Frank Above:

Happy post-marathon Joe!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I heard tell that 90.1 was off the air earlier, but it appears to be working now.
  12:26pm Polyus:

Did you say Fred and Toody retiring, Joe?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:27pm coelacanth:

hey Joe and all
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm coelacanth:

Ken, it's working but notice the sound. maybe it depends on your set-up, but it's pretty terrible-sounding here. i gave up and am listening .org now.
  12:30pm Figures of Light:

Sounds good to me!
Avatar 12:32pm Joe B:

@Polyus:

www.wweek.com...
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 12:33pm Ken From Hyde Park:

@coelacanth - I'm on the fringe, so it never sounds clear in my locale anyway.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:34pm coelacanth:

rest in peace Andrew Loomis.
Avatar 12:36pm Joe B:

definitely a unique individual. and of course a great drummer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm coelacanth:

Ken, i guess i'm lucky. it usually sounds better than the internet signal. (the slight static doesn't bother me) but right now it sounds like a portable transistor radio did in 1970!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:40pm -Ken:

WMFU was off the air earlier today for an hour. It is back on now, but it is with a backup audio feed which is pretty lousy sounding. Trying to get the T1 circuit fixed and then everything will be back to normal.
Avatar 12:42pm Joe B:

thanks Ken!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:42pm coelacanth:

Joe i must admit i didn't know any of the band members' names and when you posted that sentiment a few weeks ago i looked it up. i was wondering what the connection was between dead moon and the painter Andrew Loomis!
anyway, now i understand and it's sad. Thanks for playing them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm coelacanth:

Thanks Ken...and, THANKS KEN!!!
  12:46pm john 568:

@Ken
Samantha's smash marathon finale performance should be in FMU's regular rotation, should be released

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm -Ken:

I agree John568, that was one of my favorite performances from last night.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:50pm MattBelow:

G'day Joe et all!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:53pm coelacanth:

i didn't catch but maybe 1/2 the finale, but glad i caught "all day and all of the night". Powerful shit!
Avatar 12:56pm Joe B:

so many great ones last night to choose from. My fave might have been Chris T
  12:59pm Polyus:

Chris T. was one of the only ones I saw. Great choice for a song.
  1:03pm Polyus:

Also, John Allen pulling off the hot leads on 'City Slang'. Unless that was Scott, I couldn't quite tell on my little device.
Avatar 1:03pm Joe B:

oh yeah, city slang was great too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:05pm MD:

Rock it Belok!!!
  1:12pm Bill in W.O.:

Any news on when's the new rekkid from Wyldlife?
Avatar 1:13pm Listener dc 108581:

I'm with john and SMKen above. Samantha blew the doors off of that Kinks cover. That was amazing.
Avatar 1:14pm Listener dc 108581:

thanks john 568. That's the only thing I want to hear right now...
  1:35pm Uncle Michael:

hey ho what do you know Joe?
  1:40pm Mark R:

That Abaddon cut was tremendous. I wonder what makes one album a Parquet Courts album and one album a Parkay Quarts album. Is there any difference really?
  1:40pm Mark R:

Three for Monday doesn't even rhyme and that's the beauty of it.
  1:42pm Mark R:

I think you told me that before but I can't remember all this stuff and my phone number too!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Stevel:

What year was Half-Life recording Get Down? Pretty strong resemblance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Stevel:

Hey UM: Enjoying your time in the big city?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm MD:

My vote is with Half-Life!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:47pm coelacanth:

yeah STRONG resemblance!
  1:47pm Uncle Michael:

Steve, yes I did. But now I'm at my departure gate at the airport waiting to fly away.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm coelacanth:

Great track too! (as is paranoid)
  1:49pm Frank Above:

I like where this set is going....
Avatar 1:51pm Joe B:

Get Down was 1968 ... but apparently went unreleased until this comp. what a coincidence then!
Avatar 1:52pm Joe B:

have a great trip UM, great to finally meet you!
Avatar 1:53pm Cecile:

Hola!
  1:53pm ?:

Hey Joe! Sorry I missed ya last week! Catch ya next time I'm up!
  1:53pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar 1:54pm Cecile:

  1:55pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar 1:55pm Cecile:

Avatar 1:55pm Joe B:

yes AJ, sorry too, hope you had a good trip! hope to catch up with you in Philly and/or new haven on your tour!
  1:57pm john 568:

Thanks, UM's in that red suit - I always wished I could play the harp
Avatar 1:58pm Cecile:

I am still freaking out that that Pablow the Goldfish song 1) was written by a legal adult 2) was performed by a legal adult 3) exists.
  1:59pm AJ:

Awesome! Yea lemme know! We'll hook ya up. Philly would be great! Tour kick off!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:00pm coelacanth:

i wonder when Miley wrote that. it's fairly brilliant!
Avatar 2:01pm Cecile:

It was last year. I gather some pet of hers died around that time. :D
Avatar 2:02pm Cecile:

and she cries through the whole f'ing thing. My mind is blown.
Avatar 2:02pm Joe B:

Matt W and Diane brought it for sure!
  2:03pm SeanG:

duane too!
Avatar 2:03pm Cecile:

damn, joe, she was channeling '84 James Hetfield fo' sure.
Avatar 2:03pm Cecile:

yay, little murders!
Avatar 2:03pm Joe B:

oh yeah, Duane, that was incredible!
Avatar 2:04pm Cecile:

Duane was great! He was also channeling Bob Pollard big time!
  2:06pm Uncle Michael:

little murders was a really good movie
Avatar 2:07pm Cecile:

written by one of my favorite artists, Jules Pfeiffer, IIRC
  2:08pm Uncle Michael:

that's correct! Time for me to board.
Avatar 2:09pm Cecile:

bon voyage!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm coelacanth:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:17pm coelacanth:

...played live in a club or something.
  2:18pm AJ:

That's kinda how ya got to know the Suds too I suppose.
Avatar 2:18pm Joe B:

yes, a possibility!
Avatar 2:19pm Cecile:

good point, coel.

Yeah, 2 bands I learned about thru other bands:
Pink Tile - Spencer T. Jones
Really Red - Anarchitex
Avatar 2:19pm Joe B:

Yup AJ, might have to be 2 shows worth!
Avatar 2:21pm Carmichael:

UM had his Uncle Satan outfit on.
Avatar 2:24pm Carmichael:

Did anyone figure out where the archives for last night's show are located? Or perhaps they're not anywhere yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:25pm coelacanth:

i've gotta go. Thank you Joe!
ciao peeps.
  2:26pm john 568:

@carmichael video and audio
http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/65628
Dan Bodah's never-heard-of-it song from 1974 "The True Wheel" sounded real good
  2:27pm Charmin' Larman:

Joe, I'm enjoying the show!
Avatar 2:28pm Joe B:

Thanks Mr L!

Bye coelcanth, thanks for tuning in!
Avatar 2:28pm Ike:

Pedantic editorial gripe about Maynard's lyrics: Not from NYC, eh? There are no goddamn alleys in midtown Manhattan! Pffft. (Cool song other than that.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:31pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Howdy Belockers all.Still tired from the Great Performances last night. And that was just sitting on my ass( sadly, sans alcohol!) in front of an HDMI connected TV screen. Whadda shew!
  2:34pm john 568:

last night's marathon finale is listed on the Recent Archive page Past Week's Fill-Ins section
Also kudos to SM Ken's performance, Bowie in German
Avatar 2:34pm geezerette:

Charmin' Larman! Where are you on the air now?
Avatar 2:41pm Cecile:

yay, Tommy!
  2:44pm Cubicle Carl:

If you were on 80 hrs a week, Joe, we'd probably tune in.
Avatar 2:46pm Joe B:

ha thanks Carl, even that might be enough for my ocd
  2:48pm Dungaroos Kipawah:

As for "Long Time Gone", folk goof Hamilton Camp did a version in '64. And The Silkie not long after, so there's versions to be found pre-Case.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm DonJuanTijuana:

I really like this Sunshine & the Rain 7"
Avatar 2:49pm Joe B:

thanks DK!
  2:49pm Dennis Diken:
