A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Hey Listener Gregory - Howdy! - Did we ever cross paths? My apologies if we've met or talked before and I don't remember. Re: returning to Champaign. It's highly unlikely. I was there from 2006-2018. It's a perfectly fine place. I particularly enjoyed having access to the university cultural perks. The lack of water, hills, trees and nature in central Illinois really got me down. I lived in Michigan until age 33. Easy access to nature was a big part of my life. Where I live currently I can see 3 different mountain ranges, I'm minutes away from complete immersion in nature. I see seals, migrating birds and running salmon regularly. Plus I'm a ferry ride away from Seattle. I'd love to be back in the midwest someday but I'm more keen on northern midwest. How about you?

@tim from champaign, Yes, your reaction to East Central Illinois is exactly like mine. I was there through the 90s, so we couldn't have met. They did have a good community radio station then. We'll have to recruit another listener to post from there to keep us connected.

Kevin Ayers and Robert Wyatt in the same program. Both pivotal to the change in my teenage musical taste. When I was growing up, on Long Island, I would stay up late listening to the radio. There was a college station, somewhere in CT, that first introduced me to their music and I haven't been the same since. Wish I could remember the name of that station.
