@paparay..excellent memory...we loved The Rat and I saw Gang Green at the disco across the street. I worked the door on "Hispanic Night" and was constantly offered "8- balls" in lieu of the cover ...which was ummm way cheaper than an "8 ball" lol

The cool record store in Denver was Wax Trax, and oddly enough, that became Wax Trax, in 1978, according to the store today. www.waxtraxrecords.com...

What I remember around 1978 was seeing a signed promo photo of Sid and Nancy, signed "Piss off" and "XOXO" as if two different toddlers had used a sharpie for the first time. Seemed legit.

I love the story that when the RnR hall of fame notified Sid Vicious the Pistols were in he wrote them a note saying "fuck off" and so now that note is on display as a stand in for the Sex Pistols

Rawk is Folk Music of the People - & also Classic(al) by now (it just is) which befits a Museum approach - & simultaneously very much a Commercial concern. It absolutely becomes a question of who isn't in it - rather than any validation from being in it. I mean - what deserving Artist was lifted up by being recognized by it...
