Just looked up Jan Rot's very short Wikpedia entry. It says he did a Bach oratorio translated to Dutch.
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:26pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, he translated "The Matthew Passion". He has also released almost 20 cd's with Dutch language renditions of wellknown international songs
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:27pm
Jan Turkenburg:

He has written a few books and also starred in a musical.
Avatar 12:34pm

singer sounds a bit like Bowie
Avatar 🦝 Swag For Life Member 12:35pm
Jan Turkenburg:

I read that more about Kaz Lux, but I don't hear it myself.
Avatar 12:35pm
zivilars:

well, only a LITLLE bit now that I listen longer :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:36pm
StringOFperils:

I can hear it. The melodramatic Anthony Newley thing that Bowie was emulating.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:43pm
StringOFperils:

Where Bowie got it from >>

www.youtube.com...
Avatar 12:45pm
zivilars:

thanks for the link, StringOFperils – I'm not a real Bowie expert, so I didn't know about his vocal inspiration
Avatar 12:46pm
zivilars:

that current set is very nice, Jan! Three hits in a row for me so far
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:48pm
StringOFperils:

Bowie always talked about it. He very much wanted to be Anthony Newley...and he wanted t be a mime actor as well, in the 60s at least, but both aspirations inflected his performances always.

Maybe I should shift the comma somehow.

Nice theme, Jan. My favorite time of year! Although most of our flowers are arriving late this year because of the snow and freeze of the century we had down here. It was literally a 100-yr storm. Hadn't been that cold or had that much snow here in over 100 years!
