Pauly, after moving to NJ from Queens I did the 2nd grade through HS thing in Nutley. However, after traveling I settled in the Lakeview section of Clifton in 2004, and moved to my pop's in the beginning of 2020 to take care of him. He is down by the Allwood circle. Basically, I went from The Hot Grill to Rutt's Hut over time.

Mr Pumpy, at least there was a great hot dog shop in each vicinity! I lived off of Colfax Ave near Clifton HS and the old USDA quarantine facility. Most of my friends lived in the Athena neighborhood. Allwood had a great walkable downtown that is becoming all too rare these days.

Yeah, Pauly...I'd like to be done with the whole damn town, to be honest. You were kind of in between my two habitats. I do live around the corner from Market Street, which is what is considered the downtown area in the Allwood section. It's not too bad these days. It still has the Allwood theater (albeit mostly empty even though it's only $5 during the day), a sushi joint, and an Indian restaurant.

Mr Pumpy, your sentiment is shared by quite a few people in Clifton. There used to be a great bakery on Market St, as well as another really good one in the Styertown Shopping Center. The Allwood Theater was a great place to see a movie! A long time ago, one of my older sisters took me and a friend to see a double feature of "The Jerk" and "The Blues Brothers".

@medson, yeah, I hear ya. Retrospectively, it was a great place to grow up: walkable, bikeable, a ton of places to hang out (record stores, bowling alleys, delis). I took it for granted because the City was 15 miles away and so easy to get to...away from the posers...yeah...
