	2:12pm spodiodi: not quite as vintage as a series 2 TiVo, but i recently resurrected out Brita water filter pitcher. (had to reclaim it from my partner who decided it was useful to water her plants outside (harrumph)) new filter and it's right as rain.

	2:15pm StringOFperils: I remember a time before regulatory global climate systems were defiled, in winter on the north shores of Lake Superior, the largest body of fresh water on Earth, when the water would freeze to a depth of 20 feet or more, when even the ocean-worthy 'laker' steamship and ice-breaker, Alexander Henry would be unable to continue beyond mid-January without being locked in the ice and crushed. Now, that place is no longer the terminus of the St. Lawrence seaway, and Canada's grain travels elsewhere, and the town is a ghost, and the water is, in all likelihood, a little bit less fresh. Water memory.

Everyone congratulated me on my output and then my parents had a giant bonfire to commemorate my achievement where they burned all of my little sculptures and I played along but inside I was surprised they could be so rude and unfeeling as to burn all of my work

	2:45pm spodiodi: my best friend's bike split in two while we were riding down the hill on my street when we about 8-10 or so i crashed more times on bikes than i can remember. i'm feeling anxious, but that's my default state

	2:49pm notsoKWYET: I was the youngest in my family so I always got hand me downs, one of which was my brothers 5 speed bike. It was the first time I had used breaks that were hand-squeezed and not push backwards on the pedals. So we go to this spot where it's a steep hill with a stop sign that goes right into one of the busiest streets in the our area of the city. So we are going down and my dad suddenly realizes I have no idea how to break on a hill that steep and at the last minute grabs me off my bike to the ground so that i didn't run into to traffic and likely be severely injured or even die

	2:54pm HyperDose: I remember the day I discovered what "speed wobbles" were. The street I grew up on was a 3-tier hill. Naturally I wanted to bomb the whole thing. The third part was the steepest. Bike slid out from under me and I slid right on the kneecap. A few years later while playing manhunt with my cousins, I trip and fall by a pond outside. Turns out the rock split my knee open the same exact way. Summer fun!
	2:55pm spodiodi: here's another bike memory: i painted my first 10-speed. the first time i painted it, i used blue to cover the Sears yellow, and then tried to paint it metallic flake candy apple red the second time, but it came out sparkly purple! my friend named it the Pimpmobile, and it stuck! i loved that bike
	2:56pm plasticaisle: I hate to be one of those "in ye olden days" kind of people but yes, I feel badly for kids today who didn't grow up without parents hovering overprotecting. Staying out late while running around and learning about life with the other kids.
	2:57pm spodiodi: ouch, HyperDose! D: speed wobbles... i know too well... most epic speed wobble was while riding my mc home from north beach (sf) through the broadway tunnel when i went down (with a ton of traffic behind me)
	2:58pm spodiodi: taught me to not take my shit to a shop for anything. i had a new tire put on at a local shop, and they put it on backwards. :\| that caused the wobble and the crash

	2:12pm spodiodi: not quite as vintage as a series 2 TiVo, but i recently resurrected out Brita water filter pitcher. (had to reclaim it from my partner who decided it was useful to water her plants outside (harrumph)) new filter and it's right as rain.

	2:15pm StringOFperils: I remember a time before regulatory global climate systems were defiled, in winter on the north shores of Lake Superior, the largest body of fresh water on Earth, when the water would freeze to a depth of 20 feet or more, when even the ocean-worthy 'laker' steamship and ice-breaker, Alexander Henry would be unable to continue beyond mid-January without being locked in the ice and crushed. Now, that place is no longer the terminus of the St. Lawrence seaway, and Canada's grain travels elsewhere, and the town is a ghost, and the water is, in all likelihood, a little bit less fresh. Water memory.

Everyone congratulated me on my output and then my parents had a giant bonfire to commemorate my achievement where they burned all of my little sculptures and I played along but inside I was surprised they could be so rude and unfeeling as to burn all of my work

	2:45pm spodiodi: my best friend's bike split in two while we were riding down the hill on my street when we about 8-10 or so i crashed more times on bikes than i can remember. i'm feeling anxious, but that's my default state
	2:47pm spodiodi: i'll never forget riding 3-up on my 10-speed. we could barely stop laughing

	2:49pm notsoKWYET: I was the youngest in my family so I always got hand me downs, one of which was my brothers 5 speed bike. It was the first time I had used breaks that were hand-squeezed and not push backwards on the pedals. So we go to this spot where it's a steep hill with a stop sign that goes right into one of the busiest streets in the our area of the city. So we are going down and my dad suddenly realizes I have no idea how to break on a hill that steep and at the last minute grabs me off my bike to the ground so that i didn't run into to traffic and likely be severely injured or even die

	2:54pm HyperDose: I remember the day I discovered what "speed wobbles" were. The street I grew up on was a 3-tier hill. Naturally I wanted to bomb the whole thing. The third part was the steepest. Bike slid out from under me and I slid right on the kneecap. A few years later while playing manhunt with my cousins, I trip and fall by a pond outside. Turns out the rock split my knee open the same exact way. Summer fun!
	2:55pm spodiodi: here's another bike memory: i painted my first 10-speed. the first time i painted it, i used blue to cover the Sears yellow, and then tried to paint it metallic flake candy apple red the second time, but it came out sparkly purple! my friend named it the Pimpmobile, and it stuck! i loved that bike
	2:56pm plasticaisle: I hate to be one of those "in ye olden days" kind of people but yes, I feel badly for kids today who didn't grow up without parents hovering overprotecting. Staying out late while running around and learning about life with the other kids.

	2:58pm spodiodi: taught me to not take my shit to a shop for anything. i had a new tire put on at a local shop, and they put it on backwards. :\| that caused the wobble and the crash
