	10:10am Marco Esquandolas: I live in Kentucky and because of this, my ears are constantly assaulted by modern country music just about everywhere I go. I have a very hard time listening to most of it. BUT, I do love Sturgill Simpson and Chris Stapleton.

	10:11am E: There is a solid deli in Montville NJ that just blasts pop country radio and it's really lowest common denominator stuff... it all sounds like the musical equivalent of reality television. I have to keep these things to myself because poptimists love to make me feel like I am unfashionable for saying such things.

	10:17am Trouble: we had a ridiculous neighbor several years ago who would blast broco in his backyard: i called him nashville knucklehead. he was the prototype for broco. so out of his element living in the city, i always wondered how he came to be my neighbor.
	10:17am Trouble: i feel like i understand so much more about contemporary country top 40 now that i know this term, phew.
	10:19am E: Given the way pop country is this sort of atmopsheric background noise to shopping at a club store, or waiting in a dentists lobby, I predict someday pop country will be what vaporwave people use instead of 80s smooth jazz to invoke that same nostalgic/novelty effect.

	10:24am Kpx: I'm far from a music critic, but to me country music has approximately three different melodies, they just change the lyrics with a slight different instrumentals arrangement, and they all pretty much sound like the same song.
	10:25am TDK60: I know a club owner who likes the alt-folk-country stuff (Sturgill Simpson, Tim Easton, etc.). So he tells me about good artists. Not my finest cup o' musical tea but I consider it.

	10:33am Dances with Moomins: Hei Kpx, you mentioned Good Time Charlie. here in Finland there's a well known singer ( now vintage enough to earn emiritus ) Eero Riattinen, who has sung this lately. For much of Finland's rock, country music & Americana fans, this is something new, something that wasn't here when it was on our radios ( mine when I drove a VW around NJ ). Until I heard him sing it last year I'd nearly forgotten it. It is a snap shot of americana of a time. WFMU has it all. Starting here. Kiitos Trouble.

For much of Finland's rock, country music & Americana fans, this is something new, something that wasn't here when it was on our radios ( mine when I drove a VW around NJ ). Until I heard him sing it last year I'd nearly forgotten it. It is a snap shot of americana of a time. WFMU has it all. Starting here. Kiitos Trouble.
